This obviously has to be an assumption, but do you think the lives of those here and now in Iraq has been improved.

In my opinion we need to stop saying "It will in the future" because the Iraqis here and now are having to deal with death and displacement.

It directs the NIH to pursue alternate forms of research. But...

Sean Tipton, president of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research, expressed anger and disgust at the veto and Bush's order.

"His executive order directing NIH to continue pursing
alternate forms of research is nothing new since NIH has already been conducting this research for the past 20 years," Tipton said.

Did you know that Hilary Clinton voted against the ban on partial-birth abortions ?

I was just reading about the Bill that congress passed to ban partial birth abortions in 2003. I can't believe that anyone would think that this procedure is a good idea, or could actually advocate this procedure.

In this procedure, the baby is killed while it is in the birth canal while it is being born.

According to congressional testimony that I read, this procedure is never needed to protect the health of the mother.

If you are in favor of partial birth abortions, tell me when an abortion is not acceptable to you. How about if the baby's toe is the only thing still inside the birth canal, is it ok to kill the baby then? How about 10 minutes before that, or the day before that, or a month before that ?

Will some abortion advocate please tell me when it is not OK to have an abortion? I haven't heard the answer to that yet.

this is the second time he has vetoed the stem cell research bill, is religion playing too much in his thinking, opposed to human attempts to live when pollution, cancer and a multitude of other things he stands for are killing us, he stands in the way of research that could save thousands of lives. There is a big difference, I see so many Republican sheep out there that think "Nation Building", "Domestic Spying", U.N. Treaties and The National I.D. card are conservative thoughts and are not the start of a Tyrannical Totalitarian Regime I am wondering do they know that these are not have never been conservative stances on these issues? i.e. Hillary Clinton wanted a national id card in the form of her socialist dream of a health care system and the Republicans were screaming from the rooftops(rightfully so) that it was a invasion of civil liberties, now Bush takes that idea and make it bigger and legislates it (The REAL ID ACT H.R. 418) and is turning the country into a police state and that is OK because he is a Republican. Is Ron Paul right have "conservatives" lost their way? or do people not know what conservatism is, that neo-conservatives like Bush are not conservatives?

Bush veto'd the stem cell bill life protecting Democrats put together to help find cures to AIDS, Cancer, Immune Issues, even ways to help grow an organ to be transplanted in a patient thats been on a waiting list for years.

It could also help cure so many illnesses and mankind could achieve a new height in medicine . but bushs response to it was: NO. WHY you ask? because of his religious beliefs.

bush disregarded science, medicine , and many years of research to help mankind through stem cells especially embrionic stem cells.

What has the republican party come to? they say they are pro life but are against anyting that can help advance medicine.

This is disappointing.

thank god he'll be back to texas in less than 2 years.
