With National Guard and Reserves being called up (indefinitely) for Iraq and Afghanistan and involuntary enlistment extensions, is the Bush administration sowing the seeds of a major recruiting crisis for the U.S. military?

In the wake of Vietnam, it took 20 years to recover ... and the National Guard and Reserves were largely spared (to wit: GWB in the Air Guard).

what would you do if a group of forigners attack your country, take it over, destroy your house, rape you, kill your parents, abuse your children, insult your beliefs and call you a terrorist for protecting yourself in your own homeland as well?will you sit on your hands and do nothing?and watch them stealling your oil and gold? If you try to get rid of them and you blow one of them up does it mean you're a terrorist or your religion is the religion of war and is full of violence? If so why they were not any before they attack you?what else would you do if you were in such a terrible situation?
I THINK PEOPLE NEED TO REDIFINE TERRORISM AND VIOLENCE.

Just for the record, it does say in the bible that God knew us before we were even born so obviously that would be before we ever took our first "breath" of air here on Earth.

Before I formed thee in the womb, I KNEW THEE."- Jeremiah 1:5

Also, unborn babies are totally innocent and deserve a chance at life just as much as we did, even more so because they are so pure and innocent.

They say the truth hurts, is that why some people can be so mean and cold hearted when it comes to this important issue???

It seems that the foundationds of moral substance, and ethical fortitude which made our country strong are being sacrificed at the sake of furthering political agendas and idealistic dogma. Have we as a people become so blind as to not be able to comprehend the inevitablly damnable outcome of profit, and partisan politics in place of true good old fashioned public service? Are our personal ideals, and vices so ultimately important as to overrule even the most basic forms of common self survival as a whole? Can we get back to a point where the only profits afforded within the political arena are self evident realizations of prosperity benifical to even the common man?
Please, If you can't be neutral, or sincere, don't reply.

I've heard it several times before... "if you raise taxes too much, the rich will leave"... rich Republicans I'm assuming, since they are defending them...

are these the "patriots" that constantly talk about how American they are? So patriotic that they will leave if we don't give them a small percentage of their money back?

they are so American that they will leave, if they don't get to keep that extra million, on top of their 500 million that they have in an offshore account already?

I guess it's ok to die for your country, but don't repeal that 5 percent tax cut or I'm moving?

yes, it's quite clear who the real Americans are when you talk about money I guess?

I will be calling people and encouraging them to vote. You can call from home and get numbers at moveOn.org
I will help at the party headquarters for a few projects.
I will post a sign on my car.
I wish I could vandalize Dolittle signs. Write "corrupt" or something...ah well. I won't do that.

Hey ya'll do something...anything... if for nothing else do it for the 655,000 plus the 70 this month ;( Those of you educated ones know what I'm talking about)

But what will you be doing? Any other ideas?

I don't get this, as if being prosperous and working hard to save money is filthy, only to turn around and pay much of it in taxes. This has to be jeolosy. Sorry, I worked my way up!
P.S. I also give to my charities, by choice, not force.

Yeah, a Republican candidate, in Orange Co, CA, targeted and sent letters out telling immigrants that if they voted they could be arrested.

Now, since the Republican party is trolling for immigrant votes they have asked this man to disassociate himself from the Republican party.

There is a mountain of evidence to support the theory and debunkers such as NIST and Popular Mechanics do not answer the questions. There are literally dozens of proven inconsistencies in those reports. Just listen to a debate w/ pop mech and you will see how ridiculous they sound. Is anyone who has done the reseach denying this? All of your questions can easily be found if you take some time and do the research.

We support a man that most of the country hates. If we really couldn't think for ourselves then we would just start hating him like everyone else. So why do people say that?

Or do youthink that we should pull the troops out of Iraq and concentrate on the security of our country, secure our borders, not because of Mexican people, but for safety in general. I don't think it's fair that we singled out one group of people as our reason for closing the borders. We are spending tons of money and losing our men and woman for a country that is surrounded by other countries that would never let them succeed. Further, there are enemies within the country itself and history has shown that they did not get along then, and they won't get along now. We should work on defense of our own country rather then arming countries that will eventually use our own arms against us. There are many Saddam's out there just waiting until we leave. Admit that it was not a good move to go there and move on.
