Being rigid and closed-minded is certainly an indication of lack of intelligence. Recitation by rote without the ability to reason leads to fanatical actions and this, although common to all religions, has manifested itself violently in Islam through some extremists.
Its liberating to be in control of one's own mind and actions as opposed to being controlled by fanatical groups or emotions.
The answer may not lie in being completely detached from religion, but recognising its no cause to kill.

Iranian girl and not religious? I respect your view.

People have become rigid, especially in religious matter. They are to be taught modern education as to keep religion in our home. Many problems will be solved by this.

In this day and age there are some pretty wild opinions out there. However, I try to respect others opinions, even when they stretch my tolerance very thin.
