What were your experiences? I was in the Army. And basic training wasn't all that bad. I fell off a tower while climbing it. Broke my wrist. A big black drill Sgt came running over and before he asked me if I was alright. He said in a deep Southern drawl. Damn I wish I had my camera. :) Fearing him more then my broken wrist I jumped up and said I was ok.

suppose you were the u.s. military, and i was the country you wanted to attack but i had, sattelites that could spot all your subs, navy vessles, aircraft, incomeing missiles, etc, i also had plenty of multi warhead i.c.b.m's and medium range intermediate missiles and also super sonic anti ship missiles and the best anti aircraft missiles.......would you hve the courage to attack me.This is what i would do if you did try, first shoot down all your sattilites out of space(thus making your misslies, aircraft, navy being unable to aim your weapons accuratly),then launch my anti ship missiles to destroy all your navy, then my s.a.m's to make all your aircraft obselete, then launch my i.c.b.m to bring the point home, and any millitary forces that do land in my country ,i would dispose of them with my medium range missiles. what do you people think about my strategy?

Okay, my girlfriend is really bothering me and then these things people keep saying "Go back to the Start! do not pass GO and do not go to Jail." because I want to do infantry/sniper...
I'm planning on picking infantry, training with sniper rifles, going airborne, air assault, and maybe special forces if I could...
But everyone doesn't want me to, and I don't wanna be stuck behind repairing tanks or watching stupid prisoners, I want to be where the action is, so like what the hell do I do now?

Should I pick another stupid job I'll hate?
If so what would you recommend?

Ok first off I don't know if pilot is a secret or top secret clearance. Second, I had previously had a clearance from prior service. I had gotten out and recieved a speeding ticket which I know is not that big of deal. At my university I had gotten fined 100$ for downloading music, was all in house and gets erased off my record in 3 yrs.. its been about 1.5 yrs now. Also at my university my first weekend there I had went to a fraternity with my friend, first time drinking alot. I was of age and I guess they thought it would be funny to leave me at the bus stop, so I woke up to a campus policeman talking to me and told me since I looked intoxicated hes was calling an ambulance to get me checked out. I went to the hospital and refused any treatment and my friend picked me up and took me home. Haven't had any drinking tickets ever and still do not. Is this stuff I need to mention on the application? Or does anyone have an opinon of this will prevent me from getting a clearance?

I went to MEPS in 2002 and was disqualified because I admitted to having childhood asthma.

I am set on joining the military and at 33 have not had a breathing episode since I was 9 years old even though I am physically active.

How long does the military keep these medical records? I am hoping to find a new recruiter and not mention my childhood astma if I can find a way to get away with it.

I'm very serious about joining the Navy. But since I'm completing my last semester in college (Spring '08), I won't be able to ship out until afterwards. I've heard about the Delayed Entry program. How does that work? Are there any type of weekend drills until I ship out??

My neighbor's son did 2 tours of Iraq & it really changed him in a negative way. I knew this kid when he was growing up & his dad & I are old friends. I'm a vet & spent some time with him at his dad's request... he is nothing like he was before he left home. I found out his HV was hit by an IED & several guys wounded, but he says he wasn't hurt. I suspect he got brain damaged from the concussion... but I can't get him to go to the VA about it. This is a catch 22 situation where he has to request help & neither I nor his family can force him to seek help. How can I get something done for the kid before he hurts himself or someone else?

My husband is leaving Dec. 18th. He was originally going in for mechanics but has switched to combat control apprentice. I am having our second child (boy) in April. Should I expect to see him in Feb for graduation?

After that I plan to live in Chgo for some months to collect some BAH plus it seems pointless to follow him around with 2 kids while he goes through all that extensive training. Does anyone know when we will be able to "settle" down and do you think he will be allowed to fly out for the birth (I prefer to give birth in Chicago)?

The recruiter says Hulbert Fl seems likely like our final destination but that would be in two years wouldn't it? So meanwhile what happens? Any advice for Combat Control and what the future holds?

How long does housing take to get? And according to our family size what do you think we'd end up with.

I can't find a lot on yahoo answer for it. I know Thanks for any help! :-) I kno I can ask the recruiter but I want answers from experience plz

I would like to send a care pkg to a friend of mines husband. He is in the marines and will be coming home in February. I have looked at several websites that tell what to send, but I was wondering if some of that stuff is already readily available to them? For example, one site suggested Oreos, but how do I know if that is something that they might have already. I have never been in the service and don't know how bad off it is. Do they not get regular supply of deodorant or is that a treat?
