When the Marines take there boot camp pictures, they are at a point where they are hating life. The pictures are taken in the attic of a very old building, with little ventilation. The dress blue "blouse", jacket they are wearing is open in the back. As we were told it was so that when are worthless a^* got killed, it would be easier to put on the next man. Just prior to that they get there hair cut by the meanest barber since Geronimo. Hair is all down in there collar and back of there shirt. They are either very hot, or cold. Besides, you weren't given permission to smile. If you did the D.I is going to want to know " ARE YOU SMILING AT ME!, DO YOU LIKE ME!, YOU WANT TO KISS ME!" or " WIPE THAT SMILE OFF YOUR FACE YOU F*^@ING MAGGOT!"
Ohh, how I miss P.I

As one who serve in the Corps, yes we set our standards higher and I agree with Misty. If you want to have your picture taken with a big sh!t eating grin, go to Disneyland or Disneyworld. Get your picture taken with Mickey. You'll have plenty of time to smile when you fiinish Boot Camp and see your family fo the first time as a new Marine.

I didn't have a smile on my face when I had my Army photograph made, the drill sergeant was yelling at me at that very moment. I was smiling for my AIT and Airborne graduation pics though.

Probably cause they got their assess kicked. You get your pics taken soon after arrival at Recruit Training Regiment, and believe me you don't have anything to smile about at that point!! ( whats the matter Austin, your momma not show you enough love?) and cmor... they don't tell you to wipe that smile off your face, they knock it off your face!
