Hello!
I got a question that is very important to me. My fiance shipping of soon for her Basic Training, and she will be a Activ soldier. I want to go to college and join the reservers and later on join the SMP. Now if we are married, she activ duty and me in the reserves going to college, would the Army station her close to my town? I know that two married activ duty soldiers have to be stationed within 50 miles, but how is it in our situation?
I would really appreciate your help!

Today I was driving on the interstate near the Biloxi, MS air base and saw what I though to be a C-5 flying very low and slow. Later down the road (about ten miles) he came into view again (parallel to the interstate) and did a big u-turn. My guess is it was a training mission but it seemed pretty short. It also seemed pretty close to civilization. Is this SOP?

More than three years have been passed to the invasion of US and allied forces for establishing peace in Iraq. But no amicable solution of Iraq problem is forthcoming. Even US people is also not happy with the situation and calling for pull out of US forces at the earliest. Iraq is now under civil war with different ethinic groups. So what can be the solution acceptable to all parties involved ?

My general question is, can a recruit in one branch of the military ever switch out into a different branch? If I've been in the air force for 2 years and decided I really to get out and go to into the marines...could I transfer..or delist and enlist into the marines before the air force contract is up?

Today I was waiting on a table at work, and talking to the woman sitting there. I happened to mention that my husband was serving in Iraq right now, and she told me her son, who was sitting at the other end of the table and was probably only 19 or 20, had just returned. He looked at her and said, "Mom, nobody cares!" I was completely shocked by his attitude. Then I got to thinking, is this the message that Americans are sending to our troops? Yeah, we support you, but we don't support what you're doing.
I see these guys everyday. I talk to them and know that they're proud of what they've accomplished. Too bad America is not. Too bad our government is divided over what to do and acting like children in making their decisions.
Our military are young guys with young families ... but they seem to think we don't care.

It is my brothers dream to be a Infantryman in the US ARMY. He is a very smart kid, 99th percentile on the ASVAB 4.0 GPA

He's been in touch with his recruiter and service liason. They both suggest to him that he become an intellignece anaylst or Linguist????

My brother wants to bust down doors and ground pound. why is his career couselor trying to talk him out of that?

Why don't they want to let him be an 11b?

Why do they willingly let idiots in the infantry but discourage smart kids?

I am concerned over the second ammendment right to bare arms. Please argue in a logical format the reasons for or against firearms. This website is a petition to prevent a further invasion of rights...the first assault weapon ban is nothing compared to this one...You won't be able to purchase any kind of guns except for bolt action rifles, six shooters, and severly restricted shotguns...some other weapons also like hand guns or rifles that don't have the ability to accept magazines over ten rounds and shotguns over five shells etc.
