Pelosi is politically smart enough to know she can't take credit for the British Sailors release, even if she made any iota of a difference. Not even die hard Democrats would hang that mantel over her.

Those adversaries in Iran and Syria will see some benefit in letting the old geriatric take credit for the Brits being released. This would boost the democrat's image which in turn discredits the party in charge. Considering that the new Congress is already in bed with the enemy in trying to discredit President Bush, don't be surprised if this happens !

She is vastly more effective than doltish wimp Bush, who wets himself at the prospect of actually sitting down with an adversarial foreign leader, because he has no spine, can't think on his feet and would get steam-rollered in any negotiation.

She had nothing to do with it, she only weakened our position in the mid east. To even have a meeting with the leader of a country who is invilved with the killing of our soldiers in Iraq, be it directly or indirectly, is treasonous. SHAME ON HER.

oh puhlease...you dont think this was staged...cmon...its syria not iran and she spent most of the day shopping...its a thinly veiled clinton type photo op and equally disgusting...757 gate and the Reid flip flop sold me early...no thanks on this one.

I don't think so. I do think that US involvement in diplomatic relations in the middle east will only help.
