For a global nuclear war within the next 10 years I would say 1% chance for the reason that yes it is possible yet almost totally improbable.
For a nuclear detonation over a populated area within the next 10 years I would say theres a 10% chance.
For a nuclear detonation at all I would say theres a 100% chance.

global? extremely unlikely. regional, a decent chance. Currently nuclear powers(i mean weapons not energy) include China, Russia, USA, Pakistan, Israel, India, France, England and maybe north korea. nations that will develop nukes in the next ten years(estimates): Iran, Turkey, Brazil, Japan and South Korea(assuming North Korea does have nukes), and most likely some Sunni Arab nations like Saudi Arabia. It can be surmised that if many smaller nations have nukes, that eventually one will use them and another will retaliate. So I don't think America, China, England, or Russia will be nuking each other, I would not be surprised if Iran and Israel nuked each, India Pakistan nuked each other, or maybe north korea nukes someone. And when i say nuke, i don't mean total destruction, i mean several cities will be lost along with millions or tens of millions of people, which while terrible isn't a global nuclear war which would without question kill billions. the nations with the most nukes have to much to lose to be involved in a nuclear war, the poorer weaker states on the bring of collapse, North Korea for example, might use them.

Look up the Doomsday Clock,
These scientists have been using probability of the scenario for quite awhile... I give the percentage of some type of nuclear confrontation somewhere in the world a 20-25% chance in the next 10 years...

Yea, berry is right. Every country that has threatened the world with nuclear weapons has known how dangerous it is, and stopped. Globally? I would say....somewhere around 10%. However, it would be very easy to have another country dragged into a war. Let's say one country lauches a nuke over its neighbor to get to the country on the other side of it. Maybe that country sees it, shoots it down, but doesn't destroy the warhead. It falls and detonates in the country between them. Everybody starts pointing fingers, and pretty soon, we got a big war going on. The effects last a really long time too. You also have to take into account the nuclear dust cloud that can be blown half way around the world.
However, chances are, if anybody is crazy enough to try to completely destroy the world, his or her bodygaurds will shoot them themselves. lol

I would guess less the 25% of a global nuclear war.
I would also guess greater that 80% of someone detonating a nuclear bomb but not a nuclear war.

I was born in 1966 and grew up honestly never thinking i would make it to my twenties. Stupid powerful men and their toys. Nothing much changes.
The answer is zero. Global nuclear war implies everyone´s got some, but the Bush/Blair administration will to see to it that no one else has got nuclear capability.

Nil. The only players in a global nuclear exchange would be the USA and the Russian Federation, but there's no potential for such serious conflict between them in this timescale. At most they will return to the days of the Cold War.
Regional nuclear wars, such as India-Pakistan or Iran-Israel, are slightly more likely but I would still say under 10%.
