Pay is the same, however ther are other ways to get paid. Nicer housing, nicer amenities, where in the world you actually live. Things to do on base/post. Quality of schools for children. There are many types of things other than dollars to consider as pay. However, I would say that in order from highest to lowest "pay" is as follows: Air Force, Navy, Army then Marines. I am in the Army, but I have been to quite a few other installations and by far the best is the USAF, they take care of their people! Also, I live in podunk west Louisiana... nothing here. The Air Force has great bases all over the world. I know the Army does, too, but the places aren't as great.

As everyone stated, they all pay the same. However, the Chair Force does have the better perks. Seriously, would you rather live in barracks or a dorm. Also, to them the Army housing is substandard, so they get additional pay if they have to stay with them. Then again, different locations have different incentives. I.e. overseas, there is Cost Of Living Allowances (COLA), in hostile or really crappy areas (i.e. Area I, Korea) there is save pay. It also depends on job as well. Most Commissioned specialties offer extra pay. (I.E. Flight or medical specialties). Just look them up. One of the best sources is about.com. Military.com also has tons of good information.

The rate of pay per RANK is the SAME Across ALL the services in the US Armed Forces. It does NOT matter what service you are in, the basic pay is the same for individuals of the same rank.
