Source: CNN News. Being interviewed by a reporter in Iraq. Reporter ask "Are you afraid of the insurgents"? Marine states "NO". Then in the background an insurgent runs across the screen and the reporters says "LOOK". The Marine looked and then his uniformed Marines pants got dirty. How could that be? There was no rain or mud on the ground. What's going on?

My husband insisted that I send him a ton of mail while in Basic.. so I have been. Today, someone also in the army, told me that if he receives a lot of mail, he may have to do extra sit-ups and stuff? Has anyone had this happen to them? I'm worried that they're killing him, because I try to send him 2 things a day, like a card and a letter, because I never want him to be disappointed at mail call. He's at Ft. Jackson in SC.
Also, I made a little "easter basket" for him. It's just a little metal box (so he can store his letters in), and instead of grass I put red, white, and blue ribbon, some small notepads, pens, and a few easter eggs with plastic soldiers inside of them. Can he have this? Will they make fun of him?

HELP! I don't want my husband to hate me! haha

Our troops are allowing themselves to be used for an evil REGIME in Washington DC. I have no sympathy ...just pity

What is your view towards the war in Iraq and Afghanistan? What do you think about our troops being in there? Can we really stop the war between the sunnis and the shiites thats been going on for thousands of years? Is our military needed in other nations to stop terrorism? Can it be done? If you have an opinion please tell what you think we should do about it...I've heard of one group that I've actually taken part in that is great...it's called OTA which stands for Operation Troop Appreciation...

I've noticed in reply to some questions I've asked, the replies received show the respondents haven't got a clue what the question was. Are they just thick as a brick or merely jumped to the wrong conclusion? For those who answered a military question I posed, my address was, 364. 2nd Batt, SLI. OAS. BTA. I suspect the respondents weren't even born then, so in good army tradition; "Do me a favour and get some In."

From a hunting stand point, the 5.56 .. 50 grain bullet is good for small game and for larger game, something around the 30 cal or 7.62 with a 180 grain bullet is better. It also seems from the many videos of the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan that most of the shots are over 100 yards. In hunting it's, chose the target, chose the bullet and chose the cartridge to get the bullet there at 300 yards for a clean kill. Reference "The Game Rifle" by Bob Hagel. Professional hunter for 30 years.

i know it takes a boatload of dough, but in the long run don't you think we'll save on bullets? once the initial cost of supplying every soldier with one is done, won't it be cheaper just to charge the battery than to spend our taxes on bullets? we already have lasers that can do direct damage. and isn't it the stereotype of america and/or the world to turn whatever new technology available into a weapon? i'm wondering if some are already in the hands of marines. Perfect accuracy, no wind/distance calculations nessessary, no aiming slightly ahead of a moving target, extremely long range, can be installed on aircraft and carriers. If we don't already have them, it shouldn't be long until we do. and if we can just get over the cost hurdle, we'll be golden
