What is your view towards the war in Iraq and Afghanistan? What do you think about our troops being in there? Can we really stop the war between the sunnis and the shiites thats been going on for thousands of years? Is our military needed in other nations to stop terrorism? Can it be done? If you have an opinion please tell what you think we should do about it...I've heard of one group that I've actually taken part in that is great...it's called OTA which stands for Operation Troop Appreciation...

We lost in Iraq, much as we lost in Vietnam. The primary difference is that the administrations that waged war in Vietnam was far, far more competent than this administration.

To me, "support our troops" does not mean send them off to fight unprovoked wars with insufficient troop levels and inadequate armor. "Support our troops" does not mean pay private contractors 4 to 6 times more than what you pay them for the same job. And "support our troops" does not mean deny them treatment for PTSD, or other war related injuries, or offer them substandard care in rat infested hospitals.

What really disappoints me is that it looks like we are going to lose in Afghanistan as well. Ask yourself why we let Osama bin Laden escape from the Torah Borah region in 2003? And ask yourself just what it is we are doing in Iraq.

[Addendum: Razor--war is a game only the bit players play with their lives. Barkin: The population of Iraq is only 22 million. Most of them are pretty young--I think the average age is under 20. We could wipe out more than half of them with just two Peacekeepers. The rest should be pretty mollified if we do that. Hell, Joseph Stalin slaughtered more russians than that. Mao Tse Tung waxed 20 to 40 million chinese. If we killed only 11 million Iraqis, we'd eclipse Adolf Hitler, but would that really be so bad?

These other pipsqueak upstart nations would quit bickering about US foreign policy if we nuked Iraq. I bet they shut up real quick. You wouldn't hear a peep out of any of them. They would all learn their place, by God. Where is that little red button?

My opinion is.... it should be over by now. But it's not. It is not the fault of our military....but the polititions who think even one calateral damage report is too many.

What should be done about it. Our military should be unleashed to do their JOB.

Remove the restrictions that our polititions have placed upon our military...rules of engagement, pi$$ poor stratagy plans drawn up by some clown reading a news paper and watching video games.

Common sense will tell you, it is easier to bomb a entire block (even if it contains 2 small children) than to send 100 troops in to kill 50 enemy, losing 20 of our own while still losing the children in the cross fire.

Let lose the dogs of war.....Kill em all, Let God sort em out.

If you what to "save" people....send the Pope. If you want to eliminate a threat...send a warrior.

In my opinion, the fact that it is working throughout most of the country suggests that it can be done, and as far as where there are problems, the fact that the evidence is clear that Iran is behind the violence explains it all.

Yes, this is winnable, when the world wakes up and realizes who the real enemy of peace is.

As far as troop appreciation... buy a servicemember lunch. It has more meaning for them to have a meal with a bricklayer or a brain surgeon than to get a blanket in the mail.
