What are the basic levels of administration on the Army? Squad, platoon, company, etc. And how many troops at each level? While we're at it, has that relationship changed since 1969-1971 when I was in the Army?

I had this quote burned into my memory chips when I attended the USAFA... I think it is a very good one....

"The discipline which makes the soldiers of a free country reliable in battle is not to be gained by harsh or tyrannical treatment. On the contrary, such treatment is far more likely to destroy than to make an army. It is possible to impart instruction and give commands in such a manner and such a tone of voice as to inspire in the soldier no feeling but an intense desire to obey, while the opposite manner and tone of voice cannot fail to excite strong resentment and a desire to disobey. The one mode or other of dealing with subordinates springs from a corresponding spirit in the breast of the commander. He who feels the respect which is due to others cannot fail to inspire in them respect for himself. While he who feels, and hence manifests, disrespect towards others, especially his subordinates, cannot fail to inspire hatred against himself."

Major General John M. Schofield

I've been hearing that Bush will announce a new strategy for Iraq. Is this something we want our enemies to know? I always assumed the military would keep these things secret.

When I went to Ciudad Juarez and walked back across the border I noticed thousands of people crossing the border with border crossing cards but less than half that many going back to Mexico with these cards? A naturalized citizen who drives a bus in El Paso told me that when El Paso wants more workers immigration which is both in El Paso connected to the consulate in Ciudad Juarez hands out more border crossing cards. Most do not go back and they go to work somewhere in the U.S. A border crossing card is not a work permit it is a very inexpensive temporary tourism permit. So why put up a fence when the consulates who have been caught many times stealing from their own systems are letting them in whenever El Paso wants cheap labor? Isn't it a slap in the face of military people who serve/d in Iraq for the INS/USCIS immigration not be fixed?

I'm a sixteen year-old sophmore in high school, and it has always been my dream to serve my country. I took the ASVAB this past fall, and I scored an 85. I already know that the national average is aroun 39, but I'm still not sure what awaits me. Staff Sergeant Jason S. McGinnis of the USMC told me that I showed an above average technological understanding of electonic devices and such. I will continue to research this matter, but your help would be very appreciated.

I am serious-the deficit-an oil for blood war-loss of US credibility around the world-the latest GETTING RID OF TWO GENERALS-who won't tell him what he wants to hear (oh yea wacky neo-cons will tell you they were leaving anyways-even FOX NEWS acknowledges that these new Generals are more in line with what Bush wants-the funny thing is General Shinseki wanted more troops to go to Iraq initially-Bush and the Chickenhawk Brigade forced him into retirement-he is the worst Pres. in our history-his oil scheme has failed. Oh yea for 3 years we were winning-he kept lying to the American public hoping he could get it straight-on and on-clinton blah blah

China has allegedly gained 4th economic power status on earth. Due to their population, they have largest troop on earth.

However, China is under lot of scrutiny and criticism in all level:
- They were practicing high birth rate because they thought they can rule the world with high Chinese population.
- They are several generations behind Russia and America in military and scientific development.
- They have to act like a super power if they want to be one.
- Are they really that powerful?
- In case of military conflict, China's neighbor India has more than sufficient military prowess and nukes to send China to Yin Yang ashes and dust. Most Americans believe India is more than capable of swiftly and surely defeating China, and ruling China as its colony.
- Overall, China is behind, and will be behind for very very long time.

There's got to be some truth in such criticism, and there are other criticism about China.

I have been researching this issue for a while now and have received mixed responses. My calls and correspondences with the local officials in my region have gone unanswered. I have heard that it does recruit foreign born nationals as part of the ground troops. Any ideas as to the reality?
