Iran is joining the nuclear countries but the US & UK feel threatened by it and believe that the weapons should be destroyed. But they didn't stop to consider this when they got nuclear weapons(aka weapons of "mass destruction").

when my husband did the same? Why should I thank someone for hurting my children and family or take their abuse because they defended my country? Why do people use that sickening sound byte? Why do people say they support the troops when not one has sat up for several nights making cookies and christmas goodies for a whole battalion with several wives or sent money or toilet paper? I have. Why do people throw "thank him for defending your country" into my face for complaining about one bad apple? Why do I have to take his crap because he is in the military? Why do people assume you don't like all the military because you complain about one? Why do military people assume that when you complain about someone in the military you are non-military or anti-military?

Someone told me we should send all prisoners with over 1 year sentence to Iraq-Drop them weapons and ammo and let 'em fight.
If they make it back alive we can delete their sentence. What do you think?

I'm just glad it's the men who have to go to war and not us girls. I sure wouldn't want to live in some crappy tent in the desert and getting my foot blown off. If there is ever a world war, I'm staying right here in my cozy home and my boyfriend can get the hell out and go wherever the hell he has to go.

But anyways, did they use it for this war in Iraq? I'm just wondering, because I thought my boyfriend would have been called to go or something? I'm pretty sure they still use it.

If the cold war was JUST communism vs democracy, then I would say yes, but if ANYTHING else you believe it was over, just ask yourself if it is over. What do you think?

I had misgivings about the war from the start. I felt we should be absolutely sure..., why won't Germany & France (our allies) join us? We havent finished in Afghanistan, why the rush for Iraq?
I had served in Kuwait & Saudi & I had seen a lot of the landscape & the people. But I believed that surely there must be WMDs or a clear & present threat.
Anyway, we all know the story, many of us (at least I know I have) have been following it almost daily, I have friends there right now. What do you believe went wrong? Do you still believe this was a "just" war? What are the reprocussions of this action & how will it affect the US & the rest of the world going into the future? Look at how screwed up Vietnam Vets STILL are, w/what they went through, how do you think these Vets will be? Is this Vietnam all over? Did we learn anything? Or was this something completely different? I'm struggling w/these answers as someone who desperately still wants to believe in a country called America.

It's beyond hypocritical how people are supportive of Bush's war in Iraq when they or their kids don't have to fight and die in Iraq! Bring back the draft and let's see how hawkish the country club set is!

P.S. Having your friends in Iraq isn't the same.

After WWI the US gave russia 8 billion rubles in aid that was never repaid. The rest of the allies added another 5 billion rubles. During and after WWII russia received 20 billion US dollars in aid from the US and Canada and never paid any back. 10 billion dollars in grain from the US in the 70's again never paid back. Without aid from the the billions of dollars of aid from the allies there wouldn't be a russia today. In your opinion, how has this affected relationships between russian and the West?

hi. i am a junior in high school. i recently took the ASVAB test and scored a 96 for my Military Entrance Score (AFQT). apparently, this is an incredibly high score and i was advised to look into/consider a career in the military, something i had never considered before. my other score in the career exploration and asvab test categories were also quite impressive. i have decided to begin looking into such a future and was wondering if anyone here had any advice to give me in my pursuing a military career. what steps can i take in looking into what i can do based on my score.. good websites etc. and how do i go about contacting a local military recruiter? thanks a lot..

I want to contribute to the military. I have some skills that would be beneficial. I have issues with leaving my children for training and if I am deployed. Are there alot of single mothers in the service?? I feel I will be abandoning my children. Is it normal to feel this way or should I just not enlist??? I feel it is my duty to supply our needs now and for the future. If I am stationed in the states, how long will it be before I can bring them with me?? Is it difficult for a single mother to bring her children with her to live overseas?? I know in some countries I wont be able to.. Please help in this matter. I would like to know all of the details. If there are some single mothers that are in the military please respond...Thank you so much. Your response will be greatly appreciated.
