If we pull out of Iraq soon, will the rest of the world see us as a weak, [france-like] uncourageous country? Will it effect the demeanor of the state?

I'm looking for book recommendations that describes at the most basic level everything thing there is to know about each branch of the U.S. Military. If it's not all in one book, that is fine. Looking to find out about ranks, uniforms, rules, training, types of aircraft, types of combat vehicles, types of sea-going vessels, etc. If you have any recommendations, please post them.
Thanks!

My ex-boss is a CW4 in the Army, he just transferred to Korea. He bought a dump truck five months ago and hired me to drive it. He never paid me on time but I stuck with him hoping things would get better. Last week his check for the new tags bounced. Later the same day the leasing company that financed the truck called and said they were coming to repossess the truck, he had not made even one payment. He owes me three weeks pay and another $145 for a part I bought for the truck, a total of about $1700. He will not answer any of my emails or phone calls (he has vonage). I am going to have to contact his Commander for help in collecting my money. Anyone know how I can find out what unit he is assigned to? All I know is that he is in South Korea.

I was wondering if anybody knows if a Marine, or anybody in the military for that matter, can come home from overseas if one of their parents is terminally ill/dies? This is really sad to ask but I need to know. Thanks.

I would appreciate info. upon the scope of operations, if possible, and just general stuff about the famed Green Berets. I have an uncle that was/is one and am interested in learning more. He does not speak much about it. However, i do know he was in Vietnam/nom and im not sure but i think i remember hearing he operated with the "Black Sheep". What is the Black Sheep, and did they ever exist? .

I've known Turks and they seem pretty cool. Laid-back, well-educated people. Sure they've got their quirks but they seem far from racist. What's the deal with the Kurds?

I have to have a compassionate reassignment back to the States because Tricare has denied my baby (I'm still pregnant) care on the German economy and none is available in a military hospital over here. (Germany). My packet is already way up the chain, but I am wondering if my husband (we are MACP) will be sent with me. The reason for the reassignment deals with our baby, for one, he will be in the hospital for several weeks after he is born, and we are MACP for two. He's putting in his own request, but I'm wondering what the likelihood is of it getting approved?

I don't know much about the military but I think he mentioned that he knows that "officers" can resign but doesn't know if he can (I'm not sure what the opposite of an "officer" is). Also, his enlistment was voluntary (he was not drafted).
