My ex-boss is a CW4 in the Army, he just transferred to Korea. He bought a dump truck five months ago and hired me to drive it. He never paid me on time but I stuck with him hoping things would get better. Last week his check for the new tags bounced. Later the same day the leasing company that financed the truck called and said they were coming to repossess the truck, he had not made even one payment. He owes me three weeks pay and another $145 for a part I bought for the truck, a total of about $1700. He will not answer any of my emails or phone calls (he has vonage). I am going to have to contact his Commander for help in collecting my money. Anyone know how I can find out what unit he is assigned to? All I know is that he is in South Korea.

I just took a break from writing an eulogy for my stepfather that just pasted last Thursday and since he was not only an Airborne Ranger but special forces and a war hero, I needed to find out all I could. you can call the VA and give them hisDD214 discharge form and they will send you his full file on what he did, where he served, what and how many medals, ribbons and citations he was awarded and so on. For the living, call the VA and ask them how to find his assignment, if there's even a way. Call the leasing company and let them know what's going on and ask them what are your options? Good Luck

2. I have a family emergency and need to get in contact with my son/daughter/husband/wife/etc -- how do I get in contact with them?

Answer: The Rear Detachment is the single best official connection to your Soldier's unit while it is deployed. If you don’t know how to contact your Soldier’s Rear Detachment, you can contact the American Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org.

3. I have some family-related issues (non-emergency) I don’t know how to handle – where can I go for help?

Answer: Go to the Army Family Liaison Office web site at http://www.aflo.org or to the Army Community Service web site at http://www.goacs.org and you should be able to find the information/contacts you need.

Addtionally, The U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center, in conjunction with the Army Family Liaison Office, has established a toll-free Family Assistance hotline (800) 833-6622. The Army Family Assistance Hotline is for use only by family members of Soldiers on active duty and those in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve called to active duty. The mission of the hotline is to provide Army families caring support in the form of accurate information, useful resources, and helpful referrals related to family issues. The hotline will not be able to answer questions about casualties or Soldiers wounded or missing in action, or any operational matters. For more information on the Hotline read the Army Press Release.

what you could try is to go to the local military base closest to your place and ask to speak to a military representative, make sure you take name and rank of EVERYONE that you speak to along the way......most bases have a legal department and trust me they take accusations of financial mis doings very seriously, I say accusation ONLY as they will start out thinking this is just that so you really need to take copies and any other info to back up your version......they will then contact him at his base and deal with things from there.

Good luck and hopefully he is in a position of authority as the higher up they are the more they get pissey about it, so start collecting all your ducks now and book and appointment asap on the base.
