R.O.T.C. is the Reserve Officers Training Corps, and is offered at some Universities and colleges to train future officers for our military. What you want to know about is the Jr. R.O.T.C., which is a similar program in some high schools, which gives the student a grounding in military history, protocol, etc.
There is a group called The Young Marines which is similar, there is also the Civil Air Patrol.
I suggest you ask your guidance counselor, and get in contact with a recruiter in the branch you are interested in. When I was a recruiter, I developed a program for high school kids involving classes, field trips and camp outs. Maybe some others have come up with the same idea. Best of luck.

Reserve Officer Training Corp
I think ROTC will give you a "leg up", but the Civil Air Patrol is very similar and connected to the military. The Civil Air Patrol is kinda like Military Boy Scouts for lack of a better term. The Civil Air Patrol is also for both male and female.
Look into it.

Get a .22 rifle or an air rifle and practice. The .22 is better if you can get to a range (50 foot indoor range, or a 100 yard outdoor range is even better) or to any other outdoor area where you can shoot safely). Join the National Rifle Association and read their magazine, The American Rifleman. Go hunting if you can, and you'll learn stealth, camouflage, practical windage and elevation adjustment, trigger squeeze and breathing control to make a clean kill on game. This is what made Sgt. Alvin York of WW1, Audie Murphy of WW2, and Marine Sniper Carlos Hathcock of Korea and Vietnam effective gun-handlers long before they were called into service.

Very few young men and women going into the military are experienced with firearms. This can't be taught in a few weeks or even learned well in a few years, and this is one reason they are getting killed and injured, and aren't accomplishing their mission as well as possible. This was the case in the 1800's and is why the NRA was founded.

A lot of high scools have ROTC, there are military schools all over the place, and I'll bet there are summer camps. Look around.

ROTC-Reserve Officer Training Corps--pretty much what you are looking for--training to join the military when you are old enough.

if yours school has it you can join R.O.T.C it's a fun way and a great learning experiances that gets you ready to be in the military. R.O.T.C. is a program that the school offers. The government pays for uniforms so you get to wear uniforms. You learn how to be a good leader you also learn how to wear the uniform properly. You can also join teams like the rifle team or a drill team. There are many competions and you get to interact with other kids in R.O.T.C i was in it for 3 years and i really liked it. At my school it was the Air Force though so we learned on airplanes. But every school has a different brach. You should really consider it. You will like it.

Thinking that way is close to a mature thought whether or not your reason is totally clear.

That being said, muster up the courage of your mature side and call an Army recruiter. State your question if they try to brush you off or treat you like a kid, ask if they know someone affiliated with the Army that may know the answer.

If they insist on treating you like a child, tell them you were thinking about the Marines anyway, ask if they have the number for the Marine recruiter.

JROTC or join the Boyscouts. If you advance through the boyscouts to Eagle Scout and then join the military when you come of age, you receive automatic promotions to Private First Class.

Well, looks like you now know what JROTC is, now if you like the kind of adventure that has to do with survival, helping others and wearing a uniform, you should also look into the Boy Scouts of America. Look them up in the phone book or online and ask your parents to look into it for you.
