they offered a higher rank and bonus, i would have joined anyway but they offered so i took it but then they didn't honor it. i didn't know i could refuse even at meps. lots of others got the same treatment but i asked on here and of course got harassed by a few morons who probably can't even tie their shoes. i am more angry that the army lied than anything else and i think they should not only honor their promises (its says so right in the soldiers creed) but also treat their service men and women right. my biggest mistake was trusting them and not knowing all the army protocols. although there is no way i could. i'm not just some go to jail or army recruit, i didn't have to join, i wanted to serve my country but some think i shouldn't expect what was promised. i scored a 91 on asvab had 35 college credits and signed up for 3 yrs in a priority mos with the intentions of re-enlisting but am having doubts now.

when you're a new and know nothing about army and ask a question about their tactics the first thing some idiots do is attack you not the problem then question your courage. i am serving in a hot zone and sitting on the front lines and doing my job without complaint. my only question was that why do the army recruiters lie, why not be honest and take care of their new recruits? simple question really. but of course there are those who never question their superiors and say i shouldn't either. i learned the hard way at meps that i should question them, i had no idea then and am trying to warn others to make sure they get everything they are promised. i still think ppl should join just make sure you get treated right.

i was promised a higher rank (E3) and a small bonus (6 thousand) by my recruiter but when i got to meps the processor said they couldn't do it and to sign. i said no and then a sargent started yelling at me and said i wasn't getting it to sign and get moving. i talked to a lot of other guys sitting around there and they got the same treatment. they lied to us and used us. i used to love the army and respected it but now i don't. don't you think the army would do better if they treated the recruits honestly.

Doesn't it say something when the terrorists publical rejoice when the democrats won the last elections. Al Qaida made a T.V. clip and publically declared their pleasure and happiness of the democratic victory. Does this not say something?

If you join the military (reserve or active duty) does this make you an independent. Can you be emancipated automatically? can you get your GED without parental consent this way? Please respond as accurate as possible.

But on the other hand, people think there's a snowball's chance in hell of a draft.Okay,if it's being stretched thin, why isn't there talk of a draft? Even though I would be too old to be drafted,I'd hate to see it come down to that.

Can not just be supportive of the troops or our military, which ever word you prefer. Why is it so unpopular to think that the troops do a good job and are very important but that the people in command and in charge, not just Bush, are not doing a good job? I have seen so many postings that turn into a political debt. I don’t care if you hate the administration, MEN ARE DYING! That’s what is important! I understand that it, at times, can be a necessity but why doesn’t every one agree to limit the amount of men and women who are dying. Am I seriously crazy or is that not a good goal. (Rhetorical question, I’m not crazy.) Seriously I support our troops, I have family who has served and some who are over there now and friends’ husbands’. Can’t we all agree to get in, get it done, and get the heck out so we minimize our loss? By loss I do mean PEOPLES LIVES. It’s not just the life of the military personnel that is affected it is also who they know and love.
