The ******* americans will of course be at the front of it pushing there way in an dropping there bombs for some stupid uncalled reasons, an most likely the rest of the world will be fighting them back, its about time the other countries came together and bomb the **** out of the states and tell them how to run their country, starting off by telling them that its about time to loose some ******* weight, ie STOP EATING MC DONALDS i also think that the american dictionary should describe obesity BETTER!!!!!!!!.

The current conflict with extremist Islam could reach a global scale, but only if Bush's misguided policies are allowed to continue. It is unlikely that the Republicans will have more than 2 years to do additional damage to world peace, so that is a low threat.

As for the next real world war, China, India, Russia and Pakistan will probably be big players. There is slowly rising tension and dislike between China and the US over trade deficits and loss of US jobs, but at the moment we need them and they need us so the politicians won't start anything. Same story with us and the Russians (they have oil). Pakistan and India are at eachother's throats and have nuclear weapons: other countries would have to get involved if they start attacking eachother. Saudi Arabia is in an identical situation with Russia: we don't really like them (Osama's place of birth, among other things) and they have a different set of goals, but we need their oil and they need our money. When they run out of oil (or refuse to sell it to the US again) then war will be worth worrying about.

Have you heard of the Yom Kippur war in 1973, Israel vs a coalition of Arab nations....Egypt, Syria and Jordan. That was worse than the current situation.....it didn't raise a blip on the world war scenario (not that it didn't have the potention as a spark)...just relegated to the heap of regional conflicts between rump states. When the strategic super powers square off into two camps, then we can talk world war.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, sabre rattling and brinksmanship.... After the next world war, we'll be back into the stone age and you won't have to worry whether a world war occurred or not.

World War Three has already begun, its just a matter of time before they involve conscription, the nations involved are Britain, America, Europe is involved but only in Afghanistan, there will be others, its just a case of when they will get involed!

This is my prediction:

The seeds of WW3 started in 2003. The escalation will commence next year and will involve nuclear weapons.

It will all end on December 21, 2012 after 90% of the worlds population have been wiped out. That's the end of the Mayan calendar and has been predicted as the end!!

It is happening right now. I think the rest will go like this. Iran will get the nuke while our soldiers are still in Iraq. Iran will nuke our soldiers, thereby making us an ineffective military power...but, we will retaliate, leaving the middle east open for the taking. Russia and China will both try to move in for control of the region. The final battle will be fought between Russia and China. But that is just my opinion.

I think it'll definitely start somewhere in the middle east, but we're not in it now as there are too many nations not wanting to get involved or feeling the need to. Give it about 50 years though. I suspect it'll be over terrorists and some nuclear detonation somewhere.

I think your last guess was right. As far countries are concerned it will follow along the usual alliances. Some may have to decide which side they want to be on, like Pakistan.
