I am with you. It seems like we don't have a definitely plan at this time. But we should not turn our back to our military and support them 100%. We do not need another Vietnam.

Of course we have a strategy and i'm sure you could read all about it if you wanted to take the time to look it up. We can't just up and leave because it would leave Iraq in turmoil because it would create a power vaccuum and could possibly lead to civil war or another tyrannical dictator. So we have to stay and try to slowly establish order and set up an Iraqi government. This takes lots of time and so when people don't see everything resolved in a few years they get upset and start blaming people. It's like complaining that corn hasn't grown after having planted the seeds a few weeks ago. Even with a democratic president, we will still stay in Iraq for a time. No one wants to be there, but it is necessary to stay while they try to root out the terrorists and establish the new iraqi government to the point where they can fend for themselves.

Iraq is quiet a mess created by Bush and no one knows what to do at this point. I still can not believe that Bush along with his advisers bombed the hell out of that country without any plan or strategy. I am sure more planning takes place for a white house dinner than it did for the invasion of Iraq. Democrats need to come up with a plan where order will take place in Iraq. In order for this to occur Iraq needs a strong Iraqi police force or army which looks out for the civilians. I mean have you seen the rat tat Iraqi army or police they do not even have shoes to wear. Once that is establish then US troops need to start leaving that region slowly. In order to accomplish all this a plan needs to be formulated with a budget and time table. Iraq will continue to need allot of support for rebuilding which is also highly corrupted because the contracts have gone to friends instead to the best bidders. The whole operation is full of lies and corruption!

There never was a strategy. The adm. thought it would be a quick and easy conquest. The Iraqis were supposed to greet our troops with flowers and reward us with oil. We made a horrible mess of it and almost a million people have died. The best we can do is withdraw slowly. The country may have to be divided into Sunni, Shiite, and Kurdish staes. Then we need to worry about Iran taking over. It is a mess and we had no business going in in the first place.

The Reps had a plan for stabilzing the government and pulling out over the next 2-3 years. Then the stupid public voted the Dems in and they basically just told the terrorist that were pulling out ASAP (Over the 6 months troop levels will drop significantly). So now theyre going to pull out; Yes il say it, We won the war. But the Iraqis, no, thanks to the Dems now, they lost. And the terrorist took a beating from the Reps but now will get back on their feet becuase the Dems are giving them the chance.

Good Job Americans (All those who voted Dem) you just threw away the 3,000 American lifes, and when the terrorist strike again over the next year; We'll know who to blame for the lifes of your brother, sister, father, mother, friend, husband, wife ect.. lost to the terrorist

They are already there, so finish the job. The problem is that this goverment has too many restrictions for their own soldiers. The only way to win this war against those barbarians, is to give the soldiers "green" light to kill whoever they feel is a treath. When is the goverment going to understand that you can not reason with those people? Shoot first, then ask questions.

Bush had one strategy.......bomb hell out of them and they will love us with flowers and kisses. Chalebe gave us this intelligence as we paid him 248,000 dollars a month. He was Cheney's friend and is still in the Iraq government.

the failure is primarily down to rumsfeld. he was a copmplete failure at the pentagon. what to do next is a staged withdrawal supporting democratic rulers and the break up of the country if necessary. more US troops will die if they stay and many will be killed before the US gets out. that is the failure of rusmfeld's "stuff happens" plan for the country post-saddam.
