Well, I'll give you a BASIC over view.
The standard issued rifles back then were bolt action, typically held 10-5 rounds, and fired a HIGH power cartridge like 8mm Mauser or .30-06. These rounds were MUCH more power-full than the .223, 9mm, or 7.62 that most modern assault rifles fire.
Generals would send thousand of troops straight into the fray where they were cut down by machine guns and artillery. One machine gun could do the work of maybe 100-300 soldiers in some cases.
Generals were not trained and schooled in this new warfare and used tactics from previous wars that led to disaster all over the place.
Look up the Springfield 1906, 98 Mauser, Mosin Nagant rifles, Lee enfield rifles, the 1911, maxim machine gun, shoshun rifle (biggest failure of the war), or maybe the famous German Luger.

A yahoo search titled WW1 weapons will give you all you need unless you have a particular weapon in mind or did you really want how these weapons were used?

Well, if Wikipedia doesn't have what you're looking for, it probably doesn't exist.
As for more specific resources, you'd have to tell us what you're looking for. "WWI weapons" could be personal firearms, artillery, tanks, battleships, fighters, bombers, etc.
