when you're a new and know nothing about army and ask a question about their tactics the first thing some idiots do is attack you not the problem then question your courage. i am serving in a hot zone and sitting on the front lines and doing my job without complaint. my only question was that why do the army recruiters lie, why not be honest and take care of their new recruits? simple question really. but of course there are those who never question their superiors and say i shouldn't either. i learned the hard way at meps that i should question them, i had no idea then and am trying to warn others to make sure they get everything they are promised. i still think ppl should join just make sure you get treated right.

JS - you don't know what you're talking about and you're an idiot for attacking those who question the actions of others. don't you have a mind of your own?! the recruiters took advantage of my age and lack of knowledge about army protocol i wasn't the only one and if me wanting to hold the army accountable and to honesty is wrong then fine, you want a dishonest and deceitful military thats up to you, me i want a BETTER military one who values their ppl.

because they haven't any valid arguments thats why. there is nothing wrong with asking questions especially when you've been lied to. any of these ******* who keep attacking you are nothing but mindless morons don't listen to them. of course some recruiters lie otherwise why did the army call off recruiting last year (or maybe the year before) so that they could re-evaluate their 'methods'....the reason was there were so many complaints about harassment, intimidation and falsifying documents ? its obvious you like the military by what you say, disagreeing with some of their actions does not a traitor make as some on this board would imply. in fact its the opposite its ppl like you that point out the problems but still stand by the army that make it better. nothing is perfect and that includes the military, thankfully there are ppl like you who want to make it better by making changes. the idiots who call you names and verbally attack you are just that mindless idiots. anyone who cares about something will want to make it better. hang in there and do whats right, asking questions and changing things is the right thing to do.

I wouldn't go telling anybody in the military (any branch) that they don't know what they are talking about BOY. We are already in and are serving. You clearly just got your feelings hurt and couldn't hack it. Your problem is that you didn't listen to the recruiter as closely as you should have, and you didn't do any research on your own. What makes you think that acting like this will convince anybody that you are qualified for any of the things you other questions state that you were supposedly promised. Marine, Navy, Army, and Air Force all go through the same things when they are recruiting. You just need to quit being such a baby about it and grow up.

a lot of human beings confuse the ANA with the Afghan Police. As 'the single' suggested - the military is experienced through Nato forces (predominately the united kingdom and US) and they are able to less than taking mission on their personal (extremely) effectively. Their not the perfect, yet they replaced into lots worse. The police on the different hand are are unwell-disciplined, poorly resourced, poorly experienced and extra corrupt than Berlusconi operating a on-line casino. The locals have self assurance the military extra, yet will actively ward off the police even as they could. yet that isn't any diverse to many different counties global huge. .

So you know nothing about the Army yet you sit in a hot zone on the front lines. Something wrong with this story. So what exactly did the recruits lie about?

First, I am 14 years active duty Air Force, don't even tell me I don't know what I am talking about. Yeah I am not in the Army but the bonuses are almost identical for new recruits. So instead of dragging out a problem, and asking for solutions on Yahoo answers of all places. You should have persued the issue in professional channels instead of complaining aimlessly on a public forum. And what you are doing is not warning others. You are degrading your military by complaining, AGAIN, being part of the problem, and not looking for a solution. Bitching and moaning on Yahoo answers for ACTUAL Army issues that obviously need to be persued, does not solve a g*dam thing!!

Fear is one reason HL Menken said "The average man doesn't want to be free, he wants to be safe." Americans actually believe that the job of the military is to keep them safe. You challenge the Army you challenge their entire belief system.

Their are a few other reasons: worship of men with guns, worship of authority but the first reason is the big one,

I served 22 years in the navy. I'm not sure I believe you are in the army. Your posts don't read right for a guy on active duty.

To be honest, recruiters are much like used car salesmen... they will tell you anything to close the deal!

On the other hand, this is so widespread for soooo long that it is common knowledge. If you expected to get the straight scoop from your recruiter and took his word, shame on you! You should have known better!

Socrates was executed for asking if a democratic state where the freedom of the individual was paramount had the right to demand that these freedoms be defended by conscription.
