Military - November 2006

i don't understand why there are so many shootings, and suicide bombings going on. they seem to be bombing each other more than the US troops there. ok so there's a civil war right? what are the opposing sides motives? I can understand why they might hate the US. I can understand the motives behind 9/11. but i don't get why they keep killing their own people. and the my biggest question is wtf are we doing there? if they are killing themselves, why do we have troops there helping that cause? we're fighting against who now? the terrorists? how can we tell a terrorist from an iraqi? what business do we have there during their civil war? when we had ours, you didn't see canada aiding the north because they didn't believe in slavery. I can understand having a war on terror, but what does shooting the people who are shoting back accomplish? let them kill each other until they've had enough. why do americans have to die because iraq is having a civil war? too many questions

in the first and second world war during christmas the allies and the german stopped fighting and came out of the trenches to shake hands and wish each other merry christmas, will the insurgents do the same with the u.s forces in iraq or afghanistan, or will the u.s launch an air strike against the insugents as a way of wishing them a merry christmas like the russians did in the first chechen war when the russians fired three scuds into chechnya onto the rebels to wish them a happy new year.incidently those scuds took the u.s on red alert since they thought it was a nuke attack.ok, so what do you think will happen at christmas, will there be a truce or more bombings?

I served 4 year U.S Army infantry, and had an episode where someone slipped me a drug that made me hillucinate. Since that time I've been having hillucinations, and paranoia. My community where I live has totally shuned me, and disrespect me because we're at war, but I didn't have a choice. I've had death threats and everything else. What do you think?

receives an automated promotion to PFC (E-2). there is also the series honor man and the company honor man receives a promotion to lance corporal (E-3). the guide is not nescerrally guaranteed to become homor man because in my platoon, the scribe (secretary) became the honor man. he was a smart bookworm! lol, well my question is, do the other services have honor recruits for basic training and if they do are the honorably promoted as well?

I have heard anywhere from 1-20%. Which is closer and why is there so many people preaching to serve in the military, when most of them have not?!?!? Does there need to be another draft? Sorry, 2 questions.

just got blanket partied, he ran to the duty hut to wake up the drill instructor, the DI opened his door, laughed in the recruits face, and slammed his door shut. this question is for marines and some army personnel, what causes someone to get blanket partied, and please explain how it is done?
