Of course the war supporters thought they could win in Vietnam.

I think not. Although (supposedly) Japan knew that they would get attacked, there was no way they could have known that we'd use the (at the time) most powerful bomb. I think it's even less justified by the fact that almost all of the 200,000+ people that died as a result were citizens, not involved in the conflict in any way. If you answer this question, please provide more than just a yes or no.

The USA will no doubt lose Iraq the way the republicans lost Vietnam on 30th april 1975. The writing is on the walls. USA to go down in defeat by rag tag insurgents. No way can the USA win. 63% of Americans are against the war and no way can you win with odds like that.

The Iraqi insurgents are just a rag tag group of people so how come we are always getting a rear end thumping? This war has gone on longer than WW two. Why?

With regard to Iraq, what they're saying (The World) is that the terrorists have recruited more people, radicalized more people, and raised funds from Muslims just by projecting US invasion and occupation of Iraq as an attack against Islam and as an attack against the Muslims." Bush has done more for recruiting terrorist than Osma Bin Laden could ever have dreamed. Osama says to Mr Bush "Thank You"...

Four veterans of the current war in Iraq and one supporter (a total of five young men) were detained at the Pentagon today after they attended an open house and left behind flyers providing information about the lethal effects of depleted uranium.

The five (if released) and leaders of Iraq Veterans Against the War and of Veterans for Peace will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, September 10, at Camp Democracy, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., near Fourth Street.

The veterans observed literature available in the Pentagon's chapel, which is at the site of the 9-11 plane crash. This literature, included copies of the New Testament in camouflage covers.

They left behind flyers explaining the effects of depleted uranium. Some of the vets detained currently suffer from depleted uranium poisoning. However, the V.A. Hospital will not treat them.

Wouldn't it require thousands of ships to enforce a blockade with an extent of several thousand miles? How could a naval force possibly prevent ships from slipping through easily? Wouldn't it be like a single soldier trying to guard a length of several miles of a border? I can imagine nowadays, with radar and satellites, it could be done, but back then when ships could only see from horizon to horizon, how could such a thing work?

I was a kid from Brooklyn joined USMC when I was 17

Big Red 1 .. Semper Fi !!

Back From Iraq..alive. I am sooo tired of watching Muslim men beat their wives in the street without pity! Those poor women.

Two times I had to be restrained from interveneing by my Squad Leader.

We saw while on patrol a young woman stoned to death in a pit
tied to a stake! And we couldn't do a thing!

And now I am back home listening to all the far Left Wing Bleeding Heart ACLU Adoring Liberals who want to "Hug a Misunderstood Muslim Homicide Bomber"... as their answer to terror?

Maybe I was better off in Iraq?

Why are they so Anti-American. Can't they see we are at war and rally around us instead attacking us.

They will be no votes for Hillary from the USMC, USN, US ARMY or USAF personnel thats for sure. Democrats have no friends among the military.

These Liberals don't how much damage thet are doing to our efforts overseas.

Never met a Liberal Marine and never will.

Recently, my daughter became friends with a young girls a few streets over from us. We are military members, living in base housing. The girl's stepfather is in the military, so I know she is considered a dependent. I recently found out however that the father is still married to mother of his older children and is not married to the girl's mother (who lives in the base housing). Base housing is at a premium in our area as living off base is so exspensive. They have been living like this for several years, the mom without an ID. As far as I know this is against military regs and my hsband feels it should be reported. I am torn as I like my daughter's friend .

who out of the two countries do you think pose the most serious risk to the rest of the world, and why, do we need to be afraid that someone may well push THE BUTTON in the very near future, is the west afraid to do something about the threat which is very real, or do we tend to go for easier targets and wait for america to tell us all what to do being the major superpower, (this is not having a go at the americans) so please digest the question properly
