We don't want another war. If you remember right it was the terrorists that crashed a plane into us and not the other way around my friend. We will do what we have to do to defend this country and if that means we have to blow some idiot country off the map then so be it. There has not been a terrorist attack since 9/11 because we are fighting these wars outside the country, and we are taking pre-emptive action so we don't get hit again with our pants down. We didn't start world war 1 or world war two, (or this current war) but we sure did come in and finish it and save all of the world two times in a row because country's in Europe were waving the white flag to Germany. We love peace and do not like war, but we do what we must. The only thing other country's are good at is surrendering, and then they yell and scream for our help because they are in a jam. So next time your country is in trouble don't call us for help.

So many americans do not want war, perhaps so many politiicians do. Most Americans are against the wars that are going on right now, and who is America talking about nuking? Iran and NK are the closest nations to nuking anyone, cause when they get the technology, then they'll threaten to use it. Why do so many foreigners think that american citizens like war because of the actions of their president? Morons I say! The majority doesn't want war!

People talking about nuking in other posts are joking. You have to remember that a 14 year old is allowed to use the internet.

We, as a nation, will do whatever we have to to ensure that people are safe. Agressive nations like Iran and North Korea are a threat to people all over the world, especially if they develop nuclear weapons systems. North Korea already tried to take over South Korea, ever heard of that war? And the conflicts we enter in, are not just centered around our wants. The war on terror affects millions of people around the world. If something isn't done about these terrorists, who's going to be next to die? Someone in your country? Yes to me part of the war on terror is a vengance for the anniv which we just celebrated yesterday but it's also to make sure it doesn't happen again. So the next time you decide to critisize our motives for bringing town terrorists and preventing agressive countries from having nuclear weapons, think about how you would feel knowing one of your family members was killed because nobody stopped them before.

I'm thinking it reflects unevolved thinking and a primative, simplistic view of the world. Many Americans are little different than their ancestors who participated in the genocide of our indigenous inhabitants, or the racist behaviors throughout the US Midwest and South in the decades following the Civil War. They're easily led into another war that can allow for the expression of self righteousness. Hopefully they can't totally dictate policy.

I really don't think Americans WANT war.. but there doesn't seem to be any alternative that works in a world where terrorists are a threat and where countries threaten our way of life. I'd love to see a world where every could co-exist in harmony..

They don't want or like war. But they know they cannot allow another fascist state like WWII Germany or Japan to thrive and threaten their existence in this day and age. What you are seeing is a policy of containment.

If you understand World War II, you will begin to understand America's current foreign policy.

The general public does not want war. Why do you see peace protest if all Americans want a war? Do you see any demonstrations saying "We want WAR"? I think you do not.

People just want our troops to have the military equipment they need now that our stupid president declared we should go to Iraq in the name of stopping terrorism.

Because they're the most superficial, gullible, brainwashed nation in the world and their politicians have convinced them that they're surrounded by enemies who want to destroy them by playing on the emotion generated by 9/11. It's a self fulfilling prophecy though-they have created countless enemies in the past five years who do now want to destroy them.

We aren't threatening to nuke anyone, we are trying to keep the possibility of someone being "nuked" as low as possible. Why not know your facts before you make your badly spelled accusations?
