Four veterans of the current war in Iraq and one supporter (a total of five young men) were detained at the Pentagon today after they attended an open house and left behind flyers providing information about the lethal effects of depleted uranium.
The five (if released) and leaders of Iraq Veterans Against the War and of Veterans for Peace will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, September 10, at Camp Democracy, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., near Fourth Street.
The veterans observed literature available in the Pentagon's chapel, which is at the site of the 9-11 plane crash. This literature, included copies of the New Testament in camouflage covers.
They left behind flyers explaining the effects of depleted uranium. Some of the vets detained currently suffer from depleted uranium poisoning. However, the V.A. Hospital will not treat them.

Sadly, when a governemnt will use weapons of mass destruction like these and conduct secret nuclear wars (US dropped equlivalent of 4 1/2 billion Nagasaki bombs in Iraq, not caring if they poison thier own troops, cause horrific birth deformities (up 1000%), illnesses such as gulf war type syndrome and skyrocketing cancer (up 1000% in Iraq)....
If it doesn't care it it violates all rules rules of war treatires we signed, causes all fiood and water in the area to be unsafe to consume till the end of tiem, spreads to 15 countries (so far..it will keep spreading abot 5 billion years and reinfect as it is so light the dlightest breeze puts it back up the air we breathe, harming people and with connected water and air ways), harms innocent cililians, sells its or gives it to 15 countries, leaves birds melted to the trees and sodier to their guns, sends home ten of thousands iof currect vets sick (refusing to treat them or tell them what is wrong with them nor including them in the death count),.....
If they have no problem with the rising lung cancer in the us linked with D.U. leaks and tests, ajnd so much more,
then they will have no concern about soldiers who are sick.
There is a mass coverup as even the military record show..I saw them and they state the environmental and health effects should be kept on the QT so there won't be outrage and they can keep using them.
Thank you for letting us know about this though. The sad truth is though we constantly use the catch phrase "support the troops", they themselves do not. Note how much they cut from vets benefits and hospitals to pay for the war while giving themselves 70 Billion in tax cuts in January.

For once you say something useful. The way the military treats its veterans is a shame. Not just in the case you mention but all who need medical treatment. They are treated like trash, and viewed as malingerers.
I was thrown out after 18 years in the military--2 years shy of retirement for a shoulder injury. However, I wasn't thrown out until after I was also diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. I feel this is the real reason I was thrown out. As in my unit there were at least 5 others who had shoulder surgeries, one worse than mine the others not as severe.
I asked to get a waiver to stay in the two more years...DENIED. I was given severance pay and sent packin. YEAH THANKS Uncle Sam.

The Administration and rich, powerful Christian organizations are determined to change our Country's Constitution and the Bill of Rights and turn our Country into a Protestant/Pentecostal Theocracy. It will take all of us to fight this trend.
A member of our family has suffered for years from Agent Orange exposure, he now very ill and almost blind. The public need to know the facts about the uranium exposure and hopefully, remembering our government's denials about Agent Orange, more people will support getting help for those exposed to the depleted uranium.
I won't forget, take care and good luck.
