Recently, my daughter became friends with a young girls a few streets over from us. We are military members, living in base housing. The girl's stepfather is in the military, so I know she is considered a dependent. I recently found out however that the father is still married to mother of his older children and is not married to the girl's mother (who lives in the base housing). Base housing is at a premium in our area as living off base is so exspensive. They have been living like this for several years, the mom without an ID. As far as I know this is against military regs and my hsband feels it should be reported. I am torn as I like my daughter's friend .

It is against reg and you need to report it. Here, if anyone is staying with you for longer than a certain length of time, it must be reported and authorized by the housing office. Then, the housing office usually makes checks to make sure the extension hasn't been violated. We had a soldier in our unit get kicked out of post housing because his mother-in-law was living with them in housing and it was unauthorized. Report it to the housing office or other military agent. If they're doing it legally, nothing will happen. Otherwise, it will free up a housing unit that someone in need will be able to use.

We are army and in Ky here you can have an exception to policy made so that addional occupants that are not dependents can reside in your home. For one is the father ever deployed or will he be in the future if the answer is yes then he can have an exception to policy made so that she may reside with them and the transition for the children would be as smooth as possible. Think of it like this a single mother lives in quarters, she is deployed or sent to a range for a week, whatever the grandparents can get an exception to policy and live in the house as well. Same thing here.

This is a very difficult decision on your part. Do you really care about the marital status of this person? Base housing is almost always at a premium, so that's nothing new and should not be the reason for reporting this situation. Have you met the father and "mother"? Maybe you wouldn't have any doubts about what to do, if you did.

If your husband really thinks it should be reported, then why hasn't he done so? Afterall it's his responsibility, not yours.

I have to agree with your husband. Because it is against military Regs. The military person in general could actually be kicked out of the military for it. It is illegal for military personnel for them to do that. In the Military, the Soldiers,Sailors, Airman, and Marines, have Certain Values that they have to live by. That is violating the Military Values and the UCMJ. You can report stuff without anyone knowing who you are. You Have that right. It is tough because you don't want to see your children hurt. That is every parents pain is to see their children upset. I know I am one. But you got to do whats right. It is the example for your kids that should be in your mind. Plus That Certain individual is lying to the Gov. So he is wasting Gov. money by doing that. I think you should turn him in. That's what I would do. Its not fair to honest spouses doing the right thing. Its bad enough what you spouses do put up with when we are deployed. So if anything, think about the reputation that the other spouse is doing to honest military wives.

If he is married to a different woman, yet has some other people living with him, make sure that you know that it isn't noted all ready by the people at housing... but I would report it also because it is a priviledge for us soldiers.. and the lists are so long to get into housing, that they should not be allowing other people into the base housing...

Technocally, he is eligiblefor base housing as he is still married, plus has custody of the odler children. HOWEVR.. the girlfriend is in violation.. NO GUESTS are permitted in Base housing without notification of the housing office and it may not be for more than 30 days.

Can you make an anonymous phone call to the IG and express your concerns? this is fraud and does need to be dealt with. if proven true, he will probably be kicked out of housing.

What has housing informed you relating to the undertaking? have you ever talked to them, confirmed them evidence of the undertaking by video tape or photos? Spraying them shouldn't kill them it is going to easily make it worse as they do come back for those ants that die. they'd desire to be killed interior the nest. so which you do elect ant traps wherein the bait is taken lower back to the nest and kills them. it could take some days for it to ensue. The buggists would desire to have informed you that and given you some strategies. If he's deploying in some weeks then you definately would desire to make certain you have a power of lawyer to pass into and out of housing. whether it is a undertaking then communicate to the housing place of work supervisor approximately it and notice in the event that they are able to pass it. Has the command itself been informed of hte undertaking and in touch interior the area?

you should definately report them, its like the father is stealing money from the government, and there is probably a military family waiting for a house on base, its just wrong of him to do that to other families and to a government that is paying for him to live there,
