So you think you will win in Iraq...Right?

This is something I've pointed out in other postings, both in regard to Iraq, terrorist and our country. You might think we are winning the battle with terrorists, but their time table is differant from ours.
They couldn't care less if they bomb something here in the states this year, or next, or the year after. We may control the power card, but they control the timing card. In order for us to stop them, we must be right, 100% of the time. They only need be right, one out of one hundred times, and we will suffer.......

Isn't it Great

Isn't it great that the Iraqi Government has deployed tens of thousands of Iraqi Security Forces in Baghdad to Secure the City? Of course the "Security" Forces they deployed are the same people who have been causing all the problems for the past year or more, the Militia Controlled Police and Military. Now that they are "Officially" in charge of "Security" they have increased the killing to 50 or 60+ per day, along with another increase in the killing of American Soldiers, another Great Bush Success

My boyfriend has been in the guard since i met him. First the army now air force. He always gets "laid off" his jobs then moves states. This has been going on for years. I think there is something he is involved in that he is hiding. Any ideas what? We live together now, am i in danger? He told me there are things i will never know about him, and i had a psychic tell me he is doing undercover stuff, but of course he wont admit it. im freaking out. What are the likely explanations?

We always hear the negative side of the current war the United States is facing against terrorism. It is always in the media "2,500 US soldiers are now dead."

My question is, how many terrorists have our soldiers killed/detained in their efforts, and why does the media not report this? If they do it's not very often.

Serious answers only please.

To my way of thinking, if people in the world who currently live in inhumane conditions had a decent living environment, access to good education and real possibilities to be employed, there would be considerably less anger against countries, governments and systems and therefore less people to become involved in terrorism.

When I see an area, in this case, Lebanon, being bombed (rightly or wrongly) I can only think of the subsequent terrible living conditions that ordinary human beings will have to endure and who they will seek to avenge for the destruction of their world. Get the picture?

So, how about instead of bombs, we (or in this example, Israel) spends money on building hospitals, schools etc and is seen to be HELPING the impoverished neighbors they have. The same is true of us in the West. Instead of war lets spend the billions of dollars on helping to improve the lives of the poor and then we might actually get nearer to Bono's ideal which is to "make poverty history".

Okay, would anyone like to explain to me the current military and political situation that is going on out there and why? I'm hoping for something with a little more insight than 'Two countries are bombing the hell out of one another over two soldiers who got taken hostage' because that would seem to me, for both sides, a little insane. Thank you x

The UN reports that 14,000 Iraqis have been killed since January. Under Saddam, there was less anarchy, but lots of state-killing. Is the current killing rate worse or better than the pre-invasion rate?
