The UN reports that 14,000 Iraqis have been killed since January. Under Saddam, there was less anarchy, but lots of state-killing. Is the current killing rate worse or better than the pre-invasion rate?

According to some sites I just looked at, Saddam was responsible for approx.350,000 civilian deaths since the end of the 1st gulf war. The majority of civilian deaths recently have been perpetrated by Iraqi's not U.S.soldiers.Saddam targeted the civilians for death.American forces do not target civilians.Saddam was hands down a mass murderer only surpassed by The Nazi Holocaust,Pol Pot's killing fields and the Rwandan genocide of 1994.Type Saddam the mass murderer into search and check it out.

More civilians were killed by the US forces alone than the entire Saddam's regime, and by the way they also have less food, water and medicine and security and the "murdering raping regime" is no different than the "raping murdering" US soldiers and watch the news.
I hate Saddam, and his likes but killing the Iraqi people to "free them" without even they asking or their approval is definitely not the way... and also all the regimes in the area are oppressive and even some more than Saddam, so it was not Iraqi freedom the US wanted !!!

Keep in mind that what you're really doing is comparing the number of Iraqis killed by Saddam to the number of Iraqis killed by terrorists. Americans have killed very few Iraqis, they're killing terrorists, most of whom aren't Iraqis. Iraqis are being killed by the terrorists' suicide bombs, IEDs, and car bombs.

would you rather fight and possibly die for freedom, or live under a torturing, raping, murdering dictator?

I know I would rather die fighting, and I would assume most of the Iraqi people feel the same way.

By the way, when you say "civilian", do you also include those hiding and aiding terrorists?

eddy (below) do you just make up crap? Because that is what it looks like. DO you really believe that? Where do you get your information?

It was worse under Saddam. Saddam's terrorists are killing as many as they can in order to scare the world's woosies into running off, but they are still not killing their own people as efficiently as they did when Saddam was running amok.

Many of the Iraqis that were killed were the terrorist, and only a small portion were civilian. So I say it is less.

14,000 Iraqis died because other muslim extremist d-i-c-k-heads found out that they can get another country to control easily if they terrorize them enough. they didn't expect us to stay this long though.
