Because along with their "authority" these community college graduates also have a greater responsability to obey the law. Shouldn't those who are so quick to oppress be held to a higher standard, shouldn't they have some absolute understanding of the law?

My father in law gave me a hand gun to protect my family against any potential intruders in my home and I would like to know what is the BEST way to store it but yet keep it loaded and ready to go in case someone ever breaks into my home? I have a 3 yr old in my home so I need to be really safe about it.
Thank you.

I recently purchased a 38 revolver for protection. During a wave of armed robberies near my business, I went to the gun store and asked for a reliable piece that I could use in a pinch. I heard, as I always have, that you need a revolver, semi autos will jam up on you. Are they really that bad? Are there semis that I can count on like a revolver? I've had glock in mind, what should I ask to see next time I go back?

My neighbor across the street has this annoying thing that both she and her daughter does when they want to back into their driveway - they always pull into our driveway in order to back into their's. Now, that wouldn't be a problem if they didn't act they were going to hit whomever's car is the driveway at the time (my mother's, father's, mine, or even sometimes when we have company over, their car too). The reason she does this a story for a different day, but let's just say the police were involved. That being said, how can I stop her from doing this? I'd like to walk over there and tell her to grow up, but I'm sure that would just lead to more problems.

Each time the police have arrived, they have not heard noise. She even called them on me while I was asleep! I have invited her into my home one incident and showed her that all I was doing was studying and caring for my 2 year old son and 5 month old daughter. We live in a condo so the walls are paper thin. But it's not my music or tv that bothers her. She says it's the 'bumping around' that she cant stand. I have to go to court tomorrow to plead my case and I pray that it goes in my favor. If it does, will I have grounds to sue her for nuisance or harrassment? Please help me someone. I'm not a bad neighbor. My other neighbor has never complained about any noise from my residence. Please, I need advice.

I've been in Atlanta on business for two weeks now (with a rental car) and have noticed that nearly everyone in Atlanta who drive vehicles do not use their turn signals - not on the highway, not in town, not in the smaller neighborhoods - nothing! Even the police, buses, municipal vehicles, etc.

Is there a reason for this - or is it just idiocy and lack of police enforcement.

My brother-in-law recently started as a police officer in my city. There was a report on CNN about the possibility of the draft, and he said that he couldnt be drafted because police are considered part of homeland security. Is this true? i believe the part about not being drafted because they are providing a service, but wouldnt you have to be a federal officer to be considered part of DHS?

thanks for your help in advance.

I was unfortunately sexually assaulted in June of this year. I was able to fight him off and call for help before things could get any worse than they already were. I searched through thousands of pictures at the precinct and came up with nothing. I just recently I found his picture and address on a sex offender web site. The police department put out an APB on him but I need to know does that last indefinitely. The APB...How long is it good for??? I want him caught....even if it takes months and years.

A question for the police officers: Don't you feel it's intrusive to be fingerprinted for the application process, and having the government keep your prints alongside those of criminals?
Obviously, it is important for the public to know that the officer is not a criminal, but I don't see the point of fingerprints. Companies do background checks without fingerprints all the time, so it can obviously be done with accuracy. The FBI requires them for their check, but it makes no sense why (if the government has no trouble keeping track of you by name and numbers, which they do very well for everything else, why do they need the prints for this?)
If the FBI wants to keep your prints to compare against in case you commit a crime and leave them at the scene, in my opinion, that takes away your presumption of innocence that other citizens have, as most other people only get fingerprinted if they're arrested.
Just want to see what your opinions are on the issue.

I know very little about NIBIN and the IBIS, and am wondering if handguns purchased in the US already have their "prints" in the system, or if it depends on states or whatnot.

So I applied for a local police officer position... well I passed the initial oral interview, the medical screening, the agilty test and during the agility test we got fitted for uniforms. Well the last step was an interview with the Police Chief.. well it was about 10 minutes long, the Chief spoke about the benefits, rookie school, what he expects from us, and also 4-5 people out of about 14 won't make it. He said he would call me by Saturday and let me know if I get a job offer.. After the interview we were sent back across the street where we were "fitted" for uniforms again, and also guys were calling us new recruits..

However, if we don't officially have the job yet, why were we being fitted for uniforms? And making it all the way to the Chief's interview? Do I have a shot at this or no?

I live in an apartment building and on one side of the building are two sets of row houses. There is a family who lives in one of the row houses with 3 children. The parents do not watch the children when they go outside to play. The two older boys are both bullies and the oldest girl bosses everyone around because she is left to be a mother to the boys. It is difficult for me to let my 8 year old girl go outside to play (there is a large backyard to the building) because these boys are constantly bullying her. Efforts have been made by managment to make these children stay in their own yard, but because the mother does not enforce any rules the children do not listen. I want my daughter to be able to go outside and play without me having to be out there every minute. Is there anything I can do about these children?

I hear that the cost of death penalty in Texas is about $2 million dollars because of all the appeals and all. Is this true? About how much is it, on average? Would it be cheaper to incarcerate them? What is the cost for life in prison?

Hello,
My husband and our family bought a home close to base, and 6 weeks later he cheated on me with a girl he met off the internet, and took off. He just got home from a deployment, and like I said was home 6 weeks. I filed for divorce, and we had it done. The court ordered him to pay for half the house for one year. He has not been. He says he doesn't have to. Without spending money I don't have on lawyers, how can i make him pay it?

Also,
I was cleaning out one of his storage buildings I never went in when he was here, and found alot of Military stuff like tents, and buckets and I don't know, all kinds of items that he got from the Army. I asked him about them,he said he found them in a dumpster. I seriously don't believe him,They are expensive looking things, like tents, and Misc. Now he is always asking me what I did with them, and seems very worried.I need to turn them into somebody I know... What do I do?? Who do I contact. I am not familiar with Military.

Do you think the General Public would support a "PETITION DRIVE" to create a FEDERAL,or STATE, Law, to COMPELL Law Enforcement Officers to take a LIE DETECTOR TEST, who become a Person of INTEREST (POI) or SUSPECT in MURDER, (etc.)? Upon REFUSAL to do so, they will not be working in Law Enforcement in the MORNING.
