I ask this becuase I am very interested in the FBI as a career, and sociology and abnormal psychology fascinate me to no end.
I was wondering if the FBI had a "task force" (if that's the right terminology), for harmful groups. for example, do they have a team that has the sole purpose of shutting down groups like Heaven's Gate, Hells Angels, Manson Family, or people like Roch Theriault.

do they count as counter-terrorism? counter-psychotic people? or do those kinds of cases belong to another federal agency?

My husband is in hospital tonight, and it just reminded me of how much we take for granted the professionalism, dedication and sacrifice others make on our behalf. Some are paid. But not enough. Some are volunteers, and that shames Government, but restores our faith in human nature. I work with the Police force and acknowledge their dedication, the very difficult job they do, for little thanks. We take so much for granted.

Will you join with me in a prayer of thanksgiving for those who serve us?

if a meter maid is defined as a police woman who issues parking tickets. then what is a police man that issues parking tickets? I know it sounds stupid but I cant find the answer. and if a meter maid is defined as a woman then "male meter maid "is an awkward term.

My daughter and her classmate was walking in the hall after one class let out (3rd period) as they were in the hall one officer approached them and stated, get to class. As my daughter and her friend heard they proceeded to move . In the meanwhile, this officer walks up to my daughter and starts to bumping her. My daughter stated we are moving. After walking off the officer came back toward her and her classmate then stated give me your ID. The Officer than grab my daughter (which he grabbed her breast and scratched her on her chest). and threw her up against the class. all alone never touch the other person. which her classmate stated she was the one doing all the talking to the Officer. So my question is stated above. Which I am pursuing this inccident.

Here is the story.. (well it's actually my friends)

She is in college and had to turn in a final which was a paper they had to write. Her friend in the class asked to borrow her paper because she hadn't done it yet and needed help/ideas. My friend let her borrow the paper. The girl never returned to class, won't answer her phone or anything. I know my friend shoudn't have let her borrow the paper but she did and now since the girl hasn't returned it, doesn't that mean she basically stole it? Can we file a police report?

Please help! My friend does not want to fail this class and she doesn't have the money to pay to take it over. We know she was wrong but still.... her "friend" is even more wrong.

A man who signed on to become a Clark County sheriff's deputy accidentally shot his wife to death in Tualatin on Sunday, according to police.

Police said Ryan Osbrink, 24, was practicing drawing his pistol from a holster when it unintentionally discharged as his wife, Kimberly Osbrink, entered the room.

Do you think this guy qualifies as the idiot of the year?

I've been following this case quite religiously because I keep hoping they'll find some kind of evidence to officially charge Drew Peterson. I know a person is innocent till proven guilty, but I'm really irked by his nonchalance regarding her disappearance. I know there's a slim possibility that he has nothing to do with her disappearance but living in a world where reading about men murdering their wives seems to be the norm, I can't help but wonder.

He maintains he's not looking for her because she called him the night before she was reported missing to tell him she'd left him for another man. I've searched and read all the facts revealed about the case, but does anyone know if this call was actually verified? It probably was, but there seems to be no details about it anywhere.

So what do you think? I mean, wouldn't/shouldn't she have resurfaced now if she did indeed run away? She'd call her family..right? If alive, wouldn't it be a crime to not show herself?

Thoughts/answers pls

I got a speeding ticket on November 26, 2007. I was going 83 on a 65mph zone. California Highway Patrol gave me a speeding ticket along with the court appearance date (within 30 days) and location. I called the superior court and they said my ticket is still not in the system and I'm almost due in court. They told me the officer might have sent it to the wrong county, so I called the other county and they said they don't have this citation in their system. The clerk told me that if the officer doesn't turn it in within 90 days, my ticket is dismissed. But he said I should keep checking on it or I will get a failure to appear. Is there another way to pay this fine because I do not want to keep checking for 90 days, I have to go on a trip next week.
