which he kept hidden - and I didn't know where but I knew it was somewhere on our property, would I get in trouble if it was ever found? In Canada?

Firstly the law is quite clear that you have a Prohibition order with respect to firearms. I have the same thing on my record which is for "life" (I was young and foolish). Secondly, your husband cannot just "hide" it. It needs to be stored in a firearms safe with respect that you may know of where the safe is, but he is the legal and lawful owner of the firearms which precludes you from "possessing" it. If he does not store it in a "gun safe" or in a secured storage area, he can be charged too. However, if the authorities are aware of this firearm and they believe that it is in the publics best interests they can apply to have a judicial hearing to determine whether or not your husband should retain the gun in his lawful possession with respect to your previous conviction. Hope this helps.

In a court of law it isnt going to really matter if you knew where it was or not because you have no way of proving this. It is owned by him so to my knowledge it is ok as long as you never touch it or use it and it is in his name. Unless its a handgun in which it is an illegal weapon and should be taken to authorities right away. Ask a lawyer to be sure though. or better yet call the board of firearms and ask.

I don't believe so. As long as you are speaking of a rifle. As far as I know rifles are not prohibited by Canadian law. If it's a handgun there could be trouble if it were discovered.

well if it is in your house and you have a probation then you can get in trouble even if it is his because if you have a firearms probation that meens you cant have access to one you cannot have one on the property because even if it is your husbands they cant prove that he wont give it to you to commit a crime.

if the gun is not in your name and and not in your personal possession, then i don't think you would have a problem... unless of course you use it.
