I was at a girls apartment when my wife came there and fought with me. The police were called. When they arrived they seperarted my wife and me. The police then found a prescription drug packaged in bags in the apartment. The drugs did not belong to me and I was not under arrest or present in the house any longer when the drugs were discovered. The police told the girl she would be charged because it was her apartment unless she told who the drugs belonged too. The girl said they belonged to me even though the drugs did not belong to me and i was no longer present in the home. I was then charged with possession of a controled substance with intent to sell. It is only the girls word the police are going on along with the threat of her own arrest.

There is one in my community called "Solutions", it is court ordered, if you get into a domestic dispute. It reaches things like children dont need a father, transexuality is not a choice but losing your temper is, your not allowed to call your wife your wife, you have to refer to her with various approved forms of identification, they teach a viewpoint that you are not allowed to disagree with, and if you do, it's off to jail for you. Isthis in all cities? It is best described under the definition of Orwellian.

Okay, I have a major alcohol problem. Around 11 last night, I called my friend to pick me up from the club. I was too drunk to drive. Anyway, he said we were going to Las Vegas and to get comfortable. I crashed in the backseat. Him and our other friend, Ryan, were in the front. I woke up just after 2 and realized we were parked somewhere. The guys weren’t in the car. I looked around and didn’t recognize where I was. I was still drunk, stumbled out of the car, and walked about 100 feet to where an old building was (I could see a light inside). Within a couple minutes I realized my friends were robbing this building. I started to freak on them, yelling about what they could be doing. Next thing you know the cops arrive. My friend was back in the car by this time, so he couldn’t run, but Ryan and I took off. I tripped, bruised my leg, and got a slight cut on my head while being arrested. I have never been in trouble and am not sure what got into my friends.

I had property stolen from me, which the police found about 1/2 of. 8 months later, they finally released everything back to me, except my laptop -- they say they need to go through it to see if the criminals accessed it in the time that that stole it. But, it could take another couple of MONTHS! Can I ask that they not bother to look through it and to just give it back? They don't think they turned it on anyway, and they've had it for so long. As well, I need this computer for work, I've been renting a computer and it makes me mad to think that I don't need to do this if I just got my own laptop back. I was just wondering if it was legally possible to request that.

I was arrested along with a friend in the state of Idaho for misdomeanor possession of Marijuana. Both my friend and I were charged with possesion of the same marijuana that was in the car and was not "on" either one of us. My friend admitted at the time that it was his, was found guilty and payed for it. I was offered a fine by the court and my public defender suggested I wait a bit longer and he might be able to get it lowered. I agreed and waited until the last week before my trail and called my PD to tell him that I would accept the offer, pay it and move on. He was on vacation the week before my court date and didn´t get any of the messages I had left for him until after the fact. He called me the next day after my court date and informed me that becuase I had not shown up I now had a warrent. I live in rural California, it's very expensive (and far) for me to go back and forth between home and Boise and I´m not sure how I should proceed. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

My mom called and said that a tow truck showed up at her house looking for my car. The truck driver threatend that if she didn't tell him where I was then he was going to go to the police and file a report and if they caught me in the car then I would be arrested and charged with auto theft. Can this happen or is it just a technique used to scare people? Can I go home after work?

I didn't fill in the name of the driver (under section 172) because I felt sure that no one else had my car that day but at the TIME given on the speeding ticket, I feel pretty certain I was still in an interview, so my car would have been parked. I raised this point with the Police and sent along my evidence to prove I had an interview that day at 10am that lasted an hour, hence why a ticket at 11.02 would have been tricky, even in that area. However, I've now been given a court date for not completing who was driving at the TIME of the alleged offence. Had I filled in to say I was driving, that's then making a false statement (incurring fines up to £1000) when I didn't believe it to be true; by not filling it in because I don't know, I'm still facing court. Heads you lose, tails you lose. Any advice?

domestic violence

2007-03-23 05:23:36 · 8 answers · asked by Anonymous

In movies and sometimes true life cop shows you see a crowd rioting and occasionally they attack a motorist that unawares end up to close to the scene. For instance the new "war of the worlds" etc.

In real life not in any apocoliptic movie where the law is thrown out and it's armagedon and chaos anyways....

If a crowd attacks you in a car, basically swarming it, are you allowed to plow through them to ensure your own safety?

If so at what point are you allowed to use deadly force? if they are just slapping the car and shouting, say it's a political rally and you have no idea if it will turn violent or not? or do they have to do something more violent before you have a legal right to hit the gas and get out of there no matter who is in the way?

Every state of course has their own set of laws. Any references would be helpfull as well. This isn't for a report or anything I'm just curious.
