some of the things people call the police for is just str8 up retarted. like calling the cops cause you can hear your neibors music through the wall at 3:00pm without even attempting to ask them to turn it down. or when someone calls the cops cause you let your boston terrier out in the front yard to pee and dont have it on a leash. or mabey things like the neibor kids that are like 6 are bouncing a basketball in the street by your yard.ya know, things like that. these are all true happenings ive seen and it just seems like things like these people should just handle these things themselves or just deal with it. cops do not have to be involved in every little petty discomfort you may experiance in life.

Or is this up to the police officer, his discretion? Can they deny me this. Is there a particular law or right I have to do so or which allows me to do so? Seems they are taking sides and hey the crime is being committed on me. Mainly harrasment but the officer claims that since he did not witness anyone breaking the law then he will not allow me to sign a ticket. What are my rights?

Got pulled over last night and the highway patrolman said that we were doing 80 when we were really doing 50. He said he "paced" us at 75 before catching up to us. Is it legal for him to "pace" us? Doesn't he have to get us on radar?

I was caught for boarding london bus with an oyster card with insufficient money. I had 2 oyster cards at that time, but I mistakenly took the one with not enough money and left the one with money at home. I thought I had the right one with me.

The 25 bus was so packed that day, so I didn't notice whether the green or red light appeared after I swiped it. When the inspector came on, he took my card for having no enough money. And I got a letter saying that the incident is being investigated, and that I may be prosecuted. What should I do? Is there any way I can prevent this to go as far as prosecution? Should I contact TFL? I have always swiped my card. That day was a mistake I really regret.

Why dont the police arrest hockey players after they get down fighting? If any normal citizen would fight, they would be arrested for domestic violence and public disruption. In any other sport, players are ejected, fine, and suspened.

I have a chevy silverado with some somewhat noisy pipes on her, and I love my pipes and want the least amount of restriction on the exhaust so she's good n' loud, and I know it's illegal to not have a catylitic converter on it, but I really don't want one if I don't need one. So number one question: do cops ever pull anyone over because of noise, then find they don't have a converter on their vehicle and fine them? And also my friend told me they can't pull you over until after 10pm because it's too loud. Is this true or is he just playing with me? Any help on this subject is much appreciated!! Thanks!!

What is the real reason for having a degree in Criminal Justice if you still have to go through the academy?

Have you ever heard of a way for someone to become a police officer without going through the academy?

I live out of NY State. I remember when I was visiting my parents, I had driven my mothers car to do errands and was pulled over for speeding. I had no idea because he speedometer did not work right. He gave me a lesser ticket instead of speeding and another for faulty equiptment. I took care of it all and sent them in and forgot about them. Now here it is 2007 and they say they have no record and I have a suspension to drive in NY and they want me to either plea not guilty on the failure to answer or ple guilty. Of course if the fine is low enough Id plea guilty YET they dont know what it would be. WHat should I do? I live about 400 miles from their court.

We have a child custody case going and found out the mother was arrested for first degree forgery, identity theft, first degree theft and possesion of a controlled substance. We just found out that court records show - dismissed no complaint. What does this mean? Can we still use this in court?
