Okay, I have a major alcohol problem. Around 11 last night, I called my friend to pick me up from the club. I was too drunk to drive. Anyway, he said we were going to Las Vegas and to get comfortable. I crashed in the backseat. Him and our other friend, Ryan, were in the front. I woke up just after 2 and realized we were parked somewhere. The guys weren’t in the car. I looked around and didn’t recognize where I was. I was still drunk, stumbled out of the car, and walked about 100 feet to where an old building was (I could see a light inside). Within a couple minutes I realized my friends were robbing this building. I started to freak on them, yelling about what they could be doing. Next thing you know the cops arrive. My friend was back in the car by this time, so he couldn’t run, but Ryan and I took off. I tripped, bruised my leg, and got a slight cut on my head while being arrested. I have never been in trouble and am not sure what got into my friends.

My words were slurred enough that the cops didn’t try to question me for too long - also, I refused to talk. Even this morning when in court and upon being woke up, I still wouldn’t talk. What can I do? I’m totally screwed(?) and don’t know what’s going on. Why were they being so dumb!? : (

It sucks though. We've been friends for 4 years. This stupid Ryan guy was friends with my friend before I met him but has been out of the picture until a month ago. Now suddenly my friend started do a couple more stupid things - but nothing like this. How does a person make choices like that after not doing anything stupid as such in the last 4 years!?!?

You made a very poor choice of friends. You are screwed now. Probably just get probation, but it will never leave your record. Get a good attorney.

Your friends will bring you down!!! Trust me, I've been there. Get a lawyer, and be honest. Tell the lawyer you want to be honest with authorities. If your story is true, you may get lucky. If you try to decieve, or stick up for your "friends" you will get burned. You really will. They will only try to take care of themselves. They will NOT take the rap, if they think they can put it on you. They are not your friends, or they would not have gotten you involved in this!!! I make it a point not to associate with these kind of people anymore. You should too!!!!

Many times you can be charged because you were in the car with the people who were committing the crime. You need to be honet and IF charges are pressed you need a criminal defense attorney.
You have to remember those guys are not your friends, so you need to be honest with your attorney and the judge.
Because you were"booked" you need to see if you can get that off your file as well.
Good luck and never get so drunk you are dependent on someone else.

Get a very good lawyer and don't try to protect your friends in court by taking some of the blame or not telling everything you know. You can probably get a deal by being forthright.

Yes you are fairly screwed. You need a good attorney.
You are going to be charged with the robbery unless your friends tell them that you were drunk in the back, so hope your friends are all honest about it.

If you didnt drink so much that you cant remember things, you'd make better choices.. I hope they arent too hard on you, but you might have to get used to a small cell..

u should tell them what happened. the only way u r guilty is that u were with them its not like u knew they were going to rob someone.

Nice story. How long did it take you to come up with this defense? Incidently, you're going to go to prison because your story isn't believable. My recommendation would be to prepare for it by doing some anal expansion exercises so you will feel less discomfort when you are gang raped in prison.
