Law Enforcement & Police - February 2007

Hello, from a recent visit to London, I was amazed by the level of security around places like the Houses of Parliament etc with police weilding machine guns and the like. This got me thinking are there any places around the UK that are heavily fortified? What does the UK protect? I remember driving throuhg North Yorkshire once and I spotted what looked like a farm being protected by barriers and high fences and some machine gun police men. Any one else spotted any similar?

I loaned a person $20,000.00 dollars, aganist a CD I had He never repaided the loan! what do I do now? What are the statue of limitations on this? It has been since end of 2002-2003. How do I retrieve my monies back.? I do know that any time you have 10,00.00 or more in you possion that the U.S. goverment is informed, and they know where that money is spent. But what happens NOW?

The pair of leather boots is the usual National Police Cadet Corps cadets wear.
I have tried polishing with a thick layer of kiwi but the cracks doesn't cover up. I need an answer as soon as possible or I have to purchase a new pair of boots.

im against seat belts. reason is i was in a really really bad accident and if i had on my seat belt i would have died and it states it in the police report. so none the less i dont wear my seat belt and will never wear one. i got pulled over the other day for not having it on and i didnt get a ticket for it just got a ticket for no proof of insurance cuz the new one wasnt in the car yet (stupid on my part i know) but why do they have seat belt laws yes it can save lives but there are phones people doing makeup, changing just alot of dumb things that can cause an accident yet there are no laws against these. yes seat belt law brings in cash but shouldnt it be the person's choice cuz it doesnt affect anyone else or if your not wearing one it doesnt cuz an accident. i just really really hate the seat belt law cuz once you get one they keep stoping you for it and they can stop me 100 times and i still wont have it on, i'd rather pay the fine than my life so who can i write im in michigan

What happens if you can afford to pay the ticket every time and you get multiple speeding tickets but you also have no accidents in your record. would they suspend your license or what could happen? Driving slow is no fun...

I got pulled over tonight by a douch bag cop telling me my fog lamps were too bright. I'm pretty sure he was just fishing for a DUI or whatever. Is this bright fog lam thing even a ticketable offense? What would the ticket be for? How do they prove they are too bright?

I'm 15, and I got convicted for shoplifting. I was caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. I stole alcohol and tobacco, but being 15, I'm not being charged with an MIP. I haven't gone to court yet, but I'm wondering if the judge will want to know that I'm 100% sorry and I'll never do it again, or will he even care? I stole 93$ worth, 7$ away from going to jail. =\

My parents have punished me gravely and I see things way differently now. What do you think will happen? It's not a very simple question to ask, but can anyone take a guess?
