Hello, from a recent visit to London, I was amazed by the level of security around places like the Houses of Parliament etc with police weilding machine guns and the like. This got me thinking are there any places around the UK that are heavily fortified? What does the UK protect? I remember driving throuhg North Yorkshire once and I spotted what looked like a farm being protected by barriers and high fences and some machine gun police men. Any one else spotted any similar?

Sorry its a bit out of date as it was decommissioned years ago, but there's Kelvedon Hatch. Not really fortified either, more of.... disguised..........as a Bungalow.

Could have been the Fylingdale listening station which monitors every phone call and e-mail which leaves or enters the country. You are being monitored all the time! You can tell it by the monstrous great golf ball aerials.
