cuz i lost my restricted.. dont they have the info in the computer, or should i order another restricted licence online befor i go to the DMV?

Will the DMV be nice and give me my licence 1 day early?
because im suppost to get my licence on the 18th, but since the 18th is on a saturday, and the DMV is closed for the weekend, i was hoping that they'll give me my licence on the 17th, insted of monday when they open back up....

We all have seen it when towards the end of the month or in the middle of the month all the cops are out setting up speed traps. Everyone knows that they have quotas for traffic tickets and the explanation that I found is that they have these quotas to ensure that the cops are doing their job and not just sitting around. The problem is that if there are not enough serious traffic violations, then they will start making them up and giving them to people who don't deserve them. I just dont understand how they can get away with this. Also, cops are supposed to be catching real criminals while doing speed traps but these criminals know not to break traffic laws and so the average hard working joe gets busted instead. Also, I have had a group of police oficers tell me that they could "beat me" if I did not cooperate with questioning. How are the police allowed to get away with this?

the driver drove off but got caught. He is uninsured driving a company vehicle and has admitted full liability. I have an old Golf i am restoring worth to me about £2000 but about £500 retail. I have given him an estimate for repair (£4,500) If he doesnt recover my money or repair the car where do i stand legally. I have to present three options to overcome overcrowding. I was thinking of something like turning an island into a giant prison for all American inmates. Or sending them all to Iraq. Or releasing non-violent criminals sooner. Does anyone have any ideas?

I watched a documentary last night about a serial killer in Florida who was executed for her crimes. It got me thinking about the death penalty.
The two methods I'm aware of are the chair and lethal injection. My question is what determines which method someone will be killed by? Is it crime dependent or state dependent or is it something else?
I have no shame in saying I'm against the death penalty, but that documentary got me thinking. I also don't want to get into moral debates with people about this. I'll say it now, I believe in one thing, you believe in another....lets just respect each others beliefs.

SInce the early nineties, Naomi Campbell has been getting arrested for attacking, communicating threats, and physically assaulting her employees, all of whom are poor immigrant women. People selling weed go to jail. Men who do it go to jail. Even poor Mel Gibson, who was humiliated by the press for drinking and swearing at cops, didn't hurt another human being; but he was accousted for his actions. And yet, here is this bi-polar (undiagnosed), mentally disturbed woman, hurting people, and no one seems interested(the legal system I mean) in really carrying out a just punishment. Why is it that she can get away with this kind of criminal behavior when a man who did the same thing would be really prosecuted. Come on NY. Stop treating her like she's special when she's just a street thug from the east side of London who made some money!

A Poll,My story: Live in CA. Got .08 DUI,1 glass of wine. Pulled out from parking spot 20 ft to the street, turned right-drove about 15 ft, did a 3 point turn, backed up 20 feet. When I got out there were police officers standing there. I didn't get a field sobriety test, I was so scared and shaking, I asked for a minute to calm down and breath-he slapped the cuffs on me and arrested me right then. Evidentually another car had peeled out and they thought it was me. My 11 yr was with me also. Went to court, I was sentenced to 10 days jail or work release, AA meetings , Parent class & 1st offenders DUI classes w/ $2,222.00 fine. I had to go back to court and a different Pub.Def.& Judge said my sentence was 'excesive', they dropped the meetings, he couldn't overrule the other Judge. If you've had a DUI,may I compare yours w/ mine? I think I got reamed.

Don't think this sounds cold until you know the circumstances...
I recently found out someone I previously dated has 3 suspensions against his drivers license. He is still driving and I would be elated to see him get caught.
I dated this guy only for a short while. After the fact, I found out he was into crack and drinks heavily. Myself, I only drink on occasion. One evening while were out, I realized multiple personalitiesand changes at the drop of a hat. We were having what I thought was a great evening until we were walking to our vehicle and out of nowhere he sucker punched me. (we never even had the slightest argument or altercation) I am all of 110 pounds, he is 260 built and fit. I now I have to have surgery due to an injury he caused me.
I am really adamant about turning him, but will I remain anonymous?

One of my professors told me that nothing really happens to those men because they never acted out on what they were I guess going to do and they never do jail time. If that is the case, then why do they make them seem like those men will get locked up for a long time?

So, I went through the whole DUI thing, got off on a Alcohol related reckless.. 12monthes probation.. and good god When this happened I was all set to move back to my home state... really, I had left my goodbye party, then BAM! I'm stuck! So I'm struggling to pay the fines, and must takes classes in Feb... question is... WTF Do you guys thing the judge will let me move after I pay these fines and do the classes? even if I've only been on probation 5monthes? I know it was stupid, but on my defense I blew .093 I just want to ******* go home!
