i dont know... its crazy..... the law in NI is slightly different, but still, you can get them.

it's always amazed me, especially as you can openly bye the Remote detonators (From a remote control car / or a cheap pager, and page the No) or even you can bye the pressure pads too (from a scrap yard / most cars now have them in the seats, so when you sit down with power in the car, the seat belt light comes on) and obviously timing devices and command wire ones are just so so easy to make..... (believe it or not you can even bye electronic detonators too)...
but then again, as all this is so easy to get hold of / make, I'm sure people know hoe to make explosives now a days anyway, like anfo / ans / a/f mix or even just fire bombs from pressurised petrol......

its frightening how these things are so widely available, but then again, why bye it now a days when you could make it untraced....

dont get me TOTALLY wrong, im all against it, im as shocked as you............. good question

Alex, fertiliser bombs are not as easy as bags of fertiliser and a det..... lol........ thats the ANS explosive i mentioned previous.... and you need to get the mix right and the grounding perfect.... lol, not just explosive fertiliser

Anybody can make explosives. Semtex etc are not available over the counter, but you can actually get recipies for firework production quite easily.

However, a simple explosive favourate of the IRA was the fertilizer bomb. Fertilizers are fosphates, the main ingreadient of gun powder. Two or three bags, in the boot of a car, combined with a simple detonator. Cheep, easy and effective.

I think what I am trying to get at is that any idiot can make explosives, even school kids. Banning fire works will not stop the nutters.

At least there is an age limit of 16 years in the UK.

In Japan, for example, anyone of any age can buy fireworks...

You say a pub bomb was made of fireworks ,o.k. the i.r.a.used weedkiller, molotov used petrol and brandy so what .The average household has enough chemicals to start a revolution do you suggest we ban all these .Or is it fireworks are not your idea of fun because you are too old too mean spirited or just plain miserable ,let the kids have their fun.

There are rules that go along with the purchase of fireworks, checkout the explosives act on the web, i'm sure that will answer your question for you so you dont waste everybodies time with this crap.
