Yes in some cases but but most of the time no:
"
Back in 1994, Joseph Zingher from Chicago began developing ATM software that would silently call police if a PIN was entered in reverse. Since then, Zingher has spent years trying to sell the idea to banks in the United States without success. Several US states have explored the idea, but it is yet to be implemented. In 2004, the US state of Illinois passed legislation requesting that banks install reverse-pin safety technology in their ATMs. However, banks were not legally required to do so, and have so far displayed little interest in using the system."

My mom sent me this via e-mail a few weeks ago....I dont think it's true...how could that be implemented ? I mean your pin backwards could be someone else's pin#..I do think ATM's should have some kind of security..alert the police if we type in 911 as our pin...

If you enter your pin number in reverse, that could be some one elces pin number. I could see if you had a number added to your pin number, and this would tell them that a crime was being committed and inturn call the police.

How can this be - if you enter your pin number in backwards, then you've entered the wrong pin-number and the machine will reject your card. Sounds like a new urban myth to me.

This is untrue, and I doubt it if anyone else has heard of it either. What if your PIN # was the same backwards as it was forward?

No, even if it is true, the response time of the police will not do you any good.
