These stickers only cost $5 a year, and I wonder what this money goes for? I recently got a ticket because mine was out of date. Any Mississippi law enforcements officials, please fee free to respond.

Im a college student who moves alot and cant afford to just change my license address every month plus it takes up to 4-6 weeks to recieve your license once its ordered? Should I fight this and take a trial with a jury rather then paying a ticket and just accepting the charge? I was penalized for being honest.

I am in this program called Police Explorers and they call us volunteers. We do community service and hold our meetings at the police department. Does that classify as working there or do you need to get paid for it to be classified as work? I can get some discounts if I work at the Police Department so I was wondering if this would qualify.

Today reported on the Guardian web site British officials are considering a proposal to select people for extra screening at airports based on religous or etnic backgrounds. (Article : http://www.guardian.co.uk/uklatest/story/0,,-6016515,00.html) Should the U.S. and other countries implement this policy?

Recently my government strictened the regulations on firearm ownership. Now I am not a Gun nut but I do follow these people in their reasoning that if some one wants a weapon. they will find or make one. Through my carreer in the army I had a descent experience with firearms, and I know what they can do. And I would prefer to be shot with a 9 MM pistol(restricted or forbidden in most european countries) than with a 12 gauge hunting rifle(still allowed in most countries) or be cut open with a knife!!
What's your view. Absolute ban for the public. Total freedom. Or a logically restricted system?
(and don't be naive please fire arms exist we can not get rid of them!!)

It seems from the press that there has already been a trial and the "suspects" found guilty.

FACTS:
None of the suspects had made a bomb, none had an airline ticket, many did not even have passports, many had been under surveillance for more than a year (with so many cameras etc, this could apply to most brits).

The "evidence" for the plot was from the ineterrogation/torture of a suspect by the Pakistani dictatorship.

Also, as student, Reid was known as the Stirling University Communist Party "enforcer" and the current UK government has a history of being "economical with the truth".

Media have reported the government is discussing with British airport authorities a system of profiling -- where security staff focus their search efforts on people they regard as suspicious on grounds such as ethnicity and religion.

When a person who has committed a sex offense is registered, their name, address with map and picture are placed on the internet. (In California, there is no differentiation as there are in other states. They're all pictured, although some with no specific addresses.)

My question is: is this fair to the family members who live with the registered sex offender that THEIR address is listed, too? What privacy, constitutional and civil rights do the FAMILIES of sex offenders have? Should they be harassed by proxy? What is their recourse if they are ostracized and penalized, too, along with the offender?

Please only serious answers. If you want to dump on registered sex offenders, find another question. Thank you!

his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems like too much of a lenient sentence for a crime like this. please answer if u have knowledge of the law and please serious answers only!

Okay
so a few weeks ago an intoxicated patron decided to grope me, He grabbed my breast so hard that it actually hurt - in turn, My first reaction was to turn around and hit him, So i did (in the face), He then stumbled backwards, got his balance, threw a glass at me and took a swing at me, which caused me to hit him again, this time knocking him over - he was removed from the premises by security and i never heard of it since, Until now - He's charging me with assult (In order to gain compensation from the establishment i'm employed at).
What makes all of it worse is the footage of the incident on the security camera does not show him clearly grabbing me because i was faced away from the camera (they're designed to face towards the patrons, not the staff) but it sure shows me hitting the guy!
He's claiming i broke his arm the first time i hit him, It sure wasn't to broken for him to throw a glass at me!
Any legal advice would be appreciated, I'm not sure where to go from here.
