If a person is at a home where a search warrant for drugs is executed, the person does not live there and wasn't even inside when the police came, and after the person was searched it was determined they had nothing illegal, should the police have let the person leave? Is it legal for the police to hold the person for 6 hours in handcuffs, with no arrest or no evidence to arrest?

I live California. I drove 70MPH in a 55MPH zone and got a speeding ticket. I was very upset because the officer wrote 74MPH on my ticket, and I am so sure I never exceeded 70. The officer told me that is what he got on his radar. Is there anything I can do about this? How do I reduce my fine? Will I lose my right of attending traffic school if I appear in court? I already recieved a court date from the mail. Please provide suggestions. This is my first ticket and thanks for your help.

My son was on his way home from a friends house, also in Chicopee. The car was stopped for passing a red/yellow light. Color depends on who you ask. My son was not the driver. When the officer approached the car he noticed that my son was under 17 and it was 12:30 am. The curfew is 12:00 am on weekends for public areas. I appealed the citation, written to my son and am awaiting my day in court. Is he truly in violation if he is traveling in a car? The ordinince does mention that exemptions are "traveling through the city" Is he traveling through the city if we live here too? Has anyone else been given a citation?

It seems many are catch and release and then right back in for more. Sort of like a stray dog, but dogs are kept in a cage. I know some whores get tested for diseases, but then allowed to go free. You think if they're repeat offenders they need a stiffer penalty to learn their lesson?

I'm a 30 year old engineer who was on his way to work one morning when my motorcycle broke down in Mamoraneck. Tow truck was late, so I waited an hour in a safe area away from highway in grass area near bridge for overpass. Police shows up and I think he's checking to see if I'm ok. He immediatly starts to bombard me with questions about me doing graffiti. "Do you have paint?" "are you spraying graffitti?". I'm completely cooperative and so in shock that I don't even show any attitude. I'm a 30 year old computer engineer and Air Force veteran. I wear suits to work and am well spoken and the area I was in does not exactly have a graffiti problem. He asked why I had paint on my hands(chain grease). As I handed him my license he handcuffed me in FRONT. He never searched me, but put me in the back seat. He then walked up the hill to check for graffiti, THEN he checked my bike to see if it was disabled. THEN he says he has to run me for warrants. Is this legal? What can I do about this?
