Yes. They have a law that doesn't allow you to have a car just sitting in the yard. They consider that to be junk, if not up on tags and such. Like their laws on littering, strict. Having a deposit on drink bottles and cans helped there. I will say when I visit it is a clean state to go through. I was born and schooled there. Most of my family is still there.

Absolutely NO I lived in Michigan all my life born and raised here and never once had to have my car inspected..
