If you were living about 250 hundred years ago, I'm sure that would have been the choice punishment of the day.

I believe in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, they cut off the heads or criminals with sabres. But that's about as close as you're going to get in today's world to a gruesome capital punishment.

It would have to be a very egregious offense, like, I don't know, maybe defending your family(with a firearm) from an attacking burglar. I live in California.
