Law Enforcement & Police - July 2006

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Law Enforcement & Police

I once needed emergency services at around 2:00 AM on a Sat. night. I was on hold for over ten minutes and finally gave up. This is a serious public safety issue which needs to be addressed.

This question rephrases my inflammatory question about cops and Dunkin Donuts, and to any law enforcement officers-- I do apologize for being such a jerk.

In the state of KS, are there proximity laws for registered sex offenders, like the can't live within 1000 ft of places where children gather (daycares, public parks, churches, ect)? Any loitering laws? I have been searching for two weeks and well as contacted the KBI with no results! Thanks!

The f**k that murdered my brother is there . We have been waiting for him to be extradited back to NC for 3 years now. A judge in Nc set a bond, he made it and 17 hours later tried to kill someone else, now the jerk off has been held up there since then, what is going on up there?

why are people bashing sex offender if they don't have claim to suport it by saying sex offender have higher % of reoffending while
I can prove that they really don't the link from the GOVERMENT show that less then 1 % do reoffend.

* Within 3 years following their release, 5.3% of sex offenders (men who had committed rape or sexual assault) were rearrested for another sex crime.

Compared to non-sex offenders released from State prisons, released sex offenders were 4 times more likely to be rearrested for a sex crime. (this does NOT mean sex offender reoffended it is a comparing from bank robber are less likely to do a sex crime then a sex offender will and it still less then 1%)

What information is given to an employer who performs a criminal background check on an employee?
I have a felony on my record from 15 years ago. Will that information be given to the employer?
I know on applications it asks about felonies within the last 7 years. So does the employer receive only 7 years of information? And why is it limited to 7 years? Is their a law requiring a 7 year limit?

I realize that I should never have committed a felony in the first place but I do take responsibility for what I did. It has been a long time since I got into trouble. And I have not gotten into trouble since. But I am curious about how this is going to effect me in looking for a job.

I refer specifically to use of the internet - do the security services monitor both questions and answers on 'Yahoo answers', and do our questions and answers make it more likely we will get the 'knock on the door' at some-time.
I have some very radical questions to ask and views to express but I am reluctant to do so.
