Florida will issue a warrant for Violation of Probation and for Failure to Appear. Eventually "they" will catch you. 2nd offense DUI is still jail time so face up to it rather then leave.

Twenty years ago I also ran and was caught 6 months later. Florida will extradite you. The hell of it is, you'll receive harsher punishment for it as well. I went to Lake Butler if you get my drift. Believe me, in the long run it is better to own up and not run.

By the way, I have since cleaned up my act and am a successful writer. There is always hope away from the bottle. Good luck!

I'm not sure about the Florida laws but I don't think they'd be willing to pay too much to extradite you depending on far you run. You will have to stay gone though. Is the VOP for getting a DUI? Sometimes they'll have you serve time for the DUI and when you get out they'll charge you with the VOP and say time served and add extra time on the P. I would ask a public defender before I ran. Find out how much time you're going to be running from. My advice would be not to run. I know this woman who ran from my state and they picked her up out in the East and it took her two weeks to get back. And all she did was throw a ketchup packet at her bf. but she had a warrant here. It will only be worse if you run. But do not accept the first deal that they offer you if it's not a good one. I was offered 3 years in prison and they said they wouldn't go down from there if I didn't accept the plea. I did 249 days in jail. So much for them not coming down.

I don't know about Florida laws exactly, but in Ohio they would issue a bench warrant for your arrest. If you got stopped anywhere, in Ohio or out, you could be arrested and held until the jurisdiction issuing the warrant was contacted and decide what to do with you. I imagine it would be something similar to that. To save the time and trouble, go to your court date. Better than looking over your shoulder all the time. And having more charges added because you fled to avoid prosecution.

Yes. They won't send bounty hunters out for you, but if you EVER get stopped by the police anywhere in the US, they will see the warrents and you will be sent back. I heard years ago about a man who got sent back to FL for overdue library fines.

You effed up, now be a man and be accountable. You sound like a little kid who doesn't want to go to the dentist to have a tooth pulled, not realizing that the more it gets infected, the more it will hurt and the more work the dentist will have to do. Be smart - have the tooth pulled now and be done with it.

You WILL be coming back to see us the very first time a cop runs your name . Florida cops love to travel. And guess what You get to pay for the trip. Go some where nice like Veges or San Fran.

For all you tourists we have a little saying: Arrive on vacation,Leave on probation, return on violation!!

How about you take responsibility for your action and appear at your court date? Then, stop drinking and driving. Your second DUI and Violation of Parole!!! Your damn lucky I don't make the laws. You are obviously a drain on society. Are you trying to kill someone? Is that why you keep drinking and driving? Like I said, you are very lucky I don't make the laws.

I think in these times they can get you. I think your only chance is to move to another state and never drive a car again. Of course I am one of the lucky ones who never got busted for such things. Did you go to AA? Did you volunteer at the young republican's party, did you find Jesus. Do these things before your court date and you may escape without jail time.

will they come after you ? yes. a warrant will be issued and others charges such as felony unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, FTA ( failure to appear ). if your dl was suspended that's a felony DLWS ( driving while license suspended). plus what other traffic charges and if the state that you run to. could charge you w/ being a felon and failure to register. which most states that's a state jail felony. would would have to serve that time there and they will extradite you back to FL.

They won't start an international manhunt for you. They will issue a national warrent for your arrest and return to Florida if you ever get caught speeding or with a broken taillight.
