I got a piece of jewelry made at a very respected jeweler in my town. They do great work and deal with high-end names. I got an estimate for the piece, and signed an agreement saying that it was only an estimate and it is not a firm price. Two weeks later, my salesperson called and said the piece was almost done but it was going to be almost 50% more than the original estimated price. If the price difference was about 10% off, that's understandable but 50%? Is this legal? Thank you in advance.

I did not intentionally write a bad check. I stopped payment on a check. The check was to the sheriff to do a writ of possession, but the tenants moved out so the services were not needed. I cancelled the day before, but the sargeant refused to return my money, so I stopped payment, and now the SA charged me with a crime! Seems to me, they want money for services that were cancelled and that they did not perform....

One of my colleagues has hated me for a number of years and been trying to give me a hard time. A couple weeks ago, he told our supervisor that I own a handgun and am a member of the NRA (NEITHER OF WHICH IS TRUE). I was chatting with my supervisor once after that, and he casually asked me about my opinions on guns and gang members and stuff. I didn't tell him much. I do have some black friends, but as far as I know they are not gang members. Anyway, I was soon fired for "poor performance". It is obvious that he fired me because he doesn't want any problems with guns or gang members, but I am not connected to either.

Keep in mind that this is Los Angeles, which does not have a gun culture. In this part of town it's safe to assume that anyone who has a gun is either a cop or a drug dealer.

So I have 2 questions:

1. Can I sue the company for wrongful termination?

2. Can I sue the other worker that told my supervisor this lie about me?

ok, i know a lot of questions like this have been asked, but i haven't found anything that explains what i'm asking. what i want to know is, how much control do my parents have over me, now that i'm no longer a minor, even if i do live at their house? and before i get all those moocher comments, let me explain something: i only still live with my parents because they are making it incredibly difficult for me to leave. they wouldn't let me learn to drive, or get a job, so i couldn't start till either till my birthday. when i tried to get my permit, they refused to give me my birth certificate, they started charging rent as soon as i got a job, and as i make more, they change the rent so that they get over half my money, and i still have to buy my own food, clothes, etc. now they're saying i cant go out at certain times of the day. i'm working 2 jobs, one full time (830am to 5pm), one part time(overnight about 4 times a week) and i'm a full time college student. can they do that?

Have you taken the time to write your representatives, senators, and legislators to draft up a bill that protects our rights as citizens for decades to come and to draft up a bill banning any and all mandatory government RF chipping programs? I have. I also like to include the fact that I will die before I ever get chipped.

I have a question. If someone takes your art and uses it to enter a contest...Is that copyright infringement? They gave credit though...But it was still without my permission. I am still upset that people are using my art to make a profit.

We went to a number of eating establishments and each one did not give change. (e.g. One meal total $28.70 monies were rounded up to $29.00). Same thing happened other locations. When the waitress was asked whether or not this is company policy- we were told that she does keep change in case the customer wants it. The restaurants gain each time that they do this. I will admit that I want all of my change back including nickles, dimes, etc. If this is a policy of these restaurants I will in the future deduct that amount from my tip.The bottom line is that it is not fair to just keep a person's money, it is paramount to stealing as there is no mention that you will not receive your change.

My friend was a victim of credit card fraud. The thief stole about $500 worth of merchandise online. The IP was traced and the purchases were made at a university library in the same state that we live in. The address that the merchandise was shipped to is an abandoned house about 40 minutes away from where the thief ordered the merchandise - the house has been empty for about 5 years. Do you think there is any chance the thief can be caught?

Here’s the barebones story of how 18-year-old Mike Huckabee’s son, David, and a 17-year-old friend killed a dog when they were Boy Scouts, and got fired for it. From the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in 1998 (as quoted in DogBlog):

[David Huckabee,] the younger son of Gov. Mike Huckabee and another teen were fired last month from jobs at a Boy Scout camp after the killing of a stray dog.[..]
So, how and why did David Huckabee (and Clayton Frady) kill the dog?
(Miller County, Arkansas) Two boy scout counselors, a 17 year old and 18 year old David litickabee [sic], the son of Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, have admitted to catching a stray dog during their summer session at Camp Pioneer in Hatfield, AR, and hanging the dog by his neck, slitting his throat and stoning him to death.
The Huckster’s son seems to be a real winner and his father tried to cover up his sick, twisted behavior — the same kind of behavior that landed former NFL star Michael Vick in prison.
