Michael Vick is scheduled for 23 months, but is there anyway he can get out early like on bail or something? If he is behaves good then can he get out early? and how early

This is strictly a question that has to do with the law system, I dont want a bunch of tree huggers to post all over this and tell me "he should never get out blah blah blah." Just answer this in a manner its asked.

Thank you

In the Federal system "Good time" is limited to no more than 20% of the sentence.

Vick's been sentenced to 23 months, but has already served 1.

80% means he has to serve at least 18 months, less the 1 he already served. He can serve the last month in a halfway house.

Any misconduct while incarcerated will cut into his 'good time' and make him stay in longer.

Once he's finished the Federal sentance, he can then be tried by Virginia, and serve whatever sentence they give him.

EDIT - to Beau - Federal "Good time" is 54 days per year, not a month. As near as damn-it, that's 20%.

Federal time is straight time. You get 54 days for every year served (correctly pointed out by Richard), so he'll get out 54 days early! Because the Judge didn't give him the extra month and one day he will only have 54 days of good time. So he's there to stay for the entire time less 54 days.

I think he can get out early for good behavior but I don't know for certain.
