If I choose not to wear a seat belt, I should have that right. If there were really serious, why don't they give tickets to bike riders that don't wear helmets. To me, it's just a money making scam by local police. At any rate, I did not pay the ticket, and now they say that I have to pay them 80 bucks. Can I really be forced to pay this ticket? Will I be jailed if I refuse to pay. It's not about the money, its a matter of principle.

Regardless of the custody arrangement, should the laws in Missouri be changed to require BOTH parents signature before a minor child is allowed to receive a marriage license? (presently the law only requires "a custodial parent or legal guardian" to sign). Also, should the laws require the issuing office (for marriage licenses) to use the 3 day waiting period to search for any active court cases and deny any licenses if an active case is found? (presently not done).

Actual Case: Noncustodial father with joint legal custody filed for custody modification of 16yr old daughter due to Meth being found in the home. The mother's boyfriend is a dealer. The daughter did not want to live with him, but he felt her safety was more important. 3 days after the mother received the papers she signed a marriage license application for the daughter and received the licence after the 3 day waiting period. The daugher was married 5 days after the license was received. (16 days after filing).

This lady named Renee went to an ob/gyn for an exam, and she learned the terrible truth about him. During the exam, he put her leg over his shoulder and kissed it and touched her wrongfully while saying that he loved her while her husband and son were in the waiting room. Renee spoke up to the police and decided to become a decoy at her next exam, and the perv was caught in the act. It was revealed that 71 of his other patients were sexually assaulted and raped by him right in the examining room. He was senteced to 45 years of probation. And it's all thanks to Renee. I saw this on a Maury show, and after watching it, I got sick to my stomach. Renee was actually one of those patients raped, and it was just sooo shocking. This is actually pretty frightening. It sounds dumb, but I have lost trust for all male ob/gyns, regardless. Thank goodness for Renee. I'm sure nobody else would wanted to have to suffer from this. This story is totally true. What do you think of it?

I designed a webite for employees to voice their concerns and complaints on. Now another employee posted comments the company sees as a threat. His comments were obviously in jest. He spoke as though he was a Star Wars Jedi and his comment was "If I would have had my light saber I would have decapitated her for
saying, I didn't ask her if she needed anything else." Now, because I registered the domain they are threatening to release me and hold me legally accountable.

My 5 year old was playing in the sprinkler in the back yard. Then 2 big wandering dogs not on leashes were on my yard barking at my son. I went outside when I saw trouble. I grabbed the pepper spray. I went outside. The dogs barked at me. I sprayed pepper spray at the one dog. The other ran off. I called animal control, no answer, left message. They called me back 2 hours later gave me another number that was wrong. I called Sumner police no emergency line when the 2 dogs came back. The Sumner police dispatcher was absolutely refusing to help me. She told me there was nothing I could do to the dogs even on my property and threatening us. That I would be liable. She was very mean and rude. She refused any assistance and hung up on me!!!

I just found out that my sixteen year old daughter has been spending the night at her boyfriend's house and telling us she was at a friend's house. The boyfriend's parents were home and aware they were sleeping together. They also knew that our daughter told us she was at a friend's house. I believe this was wrong of them, but does anyone know if this could be illegal in any way?
I'm just wondering, I'm not going to pursue any legal action-even though I'm really upset and angry with them.

I just posted a question regarding the case in Georgia where two teens had sex. A sex tape was produced and entered into evidence. As it was entered into evidence, the prosecutor decided to distribute the tape to the public. While he was essentially following the law, it seems beyond the realm of common sense that a prosecutor would willingly distribute what is basically a child sex tape. I got quite a response with a person telling me to stop criticizing people for following a law that they did not write. So, I gave it some thought. And, still think that a person should always error on the side of caution where children are concerned. Perhaps this person shouldn't be drug out of office (but I certainly wouldn't be first in line to reelect this dude). If he doesn't have the "guts" to stand up to a law that allows him to release a child sex tape, what other injustices provided by law is he willing to overlook.

It seems to me like people sue for anything and everything. why do you think health care is so outrageous. doctors dont even make much money anymore because most goes to malpractice insurance. for f**k sake, that lady that spilled coffee on herself... ON HERSELF mind you... sued mcDonalds... and won. wtf?

I'm planning on majoring in Journalism, and I have been thinking about choosing a minor in either English or Writing.

Well, first of all, I would like to know if choosing a minor is a good idea (do a lot of people do it?); secondly, I would like to know what would be better: English or Writing; and finally I would like to know if there would be a significant more amount of work?

You should also know that I would like to write for newspapers as a living.

Thanks,

I was just informed by my insurance company that I was at fault in an accident even though I actually wasn't. Basically, we both changed into the same lane at nearly the same time. I merged first then he came in a second later scraping his car against mine. At worst this case should be 50-50 but since I merged in first and was more established I think the blame should go to the other guy.
I then received a call from my agent who said the other guy claimed he was in the same lane the whole time and I simply hit him. Based on his story my insurance company determined it was my fault.
My question is how can i challenge this? How can someone sitting in an office a thousand miles away make two phone calls and determine who was at fault? The guy that hit me lied and my insurance company chose to take his word over mine without any evidence. Is there anything I can do?

thanks

My friend purchased Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. Since then, the disc has gotten scratched and will no longer play in the Wii.

Is it legal to use BitTorrent or any other P2P service to download/burn the game again and destroy the original hard copy? (I understand that if you do not own the game, it is illegal, but my friend already purchased the game at the full retail price.)

According to the article below, district attorney David McDade released a video of underaged teens having sex at a party. According to McDade, he had to release the video under Georgia's open records law. I will not get in to tons of details involving the case as I have posted the link below. I will say this. Where I grew up, children whom are victims of a crime have their identities protected. Does Georgia simply not value victims rights as much as my home state? Is this some rogue prosecutor that likes to distribute child porn? Or, is this some sort of vendetta against the kid prosecuted in this case? My opinion is quite obvious; a prosecutor whom forgets to protect the most vulnerable people in society has no place being a lawyer nor an attorney. Opinions??
