Depends. Many Construction Unions and Contractors use the MOST (Mobilization, Optimization, Stabilization and Training) program for yearly drug testing. Contractors also do pre-hire testing and randoms. If you are involved in an accident, near miss, or reportable injury -- you WILL be tested.

As a daughter and wife of Industrial Construction workers, I'm asking you and everyone else: if you're going into construction, please just clean up. I don't want the men I know and love to be hurt or killed by a stupid accident. The job is dangerous enough. Construction is only 6% of the US workforce, but has over 20% of the yearly on the job deaths. That doesn't count the toxic exposures that don't show symptoms until years later. People who've numbed their minds with drug or alcohol usage just add more risk to themselves and all those men (and women) around them on the job.

Your reputation also depends on not failing a drug test. Known users are usually on the list for the first layoff. Think how it will reflect on your dad if you fail a test; his reputation is also at stake since he's bringing you in.

Why is everybody so worried about drug tests???
Are you afraid of a little old bottle?? Will it bite your pecker off, or have you been messing with drugs???
