was the weapon loaded?
i was in court yesterday and these 2 knuckle heads were caught with pistols loaded with hollow points, big no-no in this state.
the judge was not pleased and set bail at 10,000.00 no ten%
and they were only 20 years old so i doubt they were felons.
if it was you that got caught, and your a convicted felon, well aside from not being to smart, your going back to prison for a good bit of time.
there may be federal charges, but i am not sure.
you can always go to your states webpage and look up the penalties for a felon in possession of a firearm.
i think in my state it is a mandatory 5 years.

Laws vary by state, so the answer is state-dependent.
That being said, in many states, possession of a firearm by a felon is itself a felony, and/or may be grounds to revoke any ongoing parole. Thus, it could result in a sentence of several years, possibly in addition to any outstanding parole time.
Laws vary by state. Check your local listings.
